As long as your boostee is in a group, you will get full exp with this method regardless of level differential between the booster (Warlock) and the boostees.

That said, I quit this method pretty early and went to instance boosting. Spent a ton of time in SM, etc using Warlock AE (Seed of Corruption). Much faster.

I boosted my foursome with my Warlock (who was 70). By the early 60's, I just grouped the Warlock and did instances/quests. It was simpler at that point and I didn't need the modest increase in non-instance mob-kill exp rates anymore.
80 Blood Elf Paladin, 80 Blood Elf Priest,80 Troll Mage, 80 Undead Warlock, 80 Tauren Druid, 80 Undead Rogue
    80 x4 Shaman (Orc x3, Troll)

Same here. I boosted in instances so I didn't have to worry about tricks and the legality of it all. I think min level for Deadmines was like level 11-12 to get in, then boosted them up through 54 (Deadmines -> Stockade -> RFK -> RFD -> Zul'Farrak -> Sunken Temple). I stopped there because it was becoming less time efficient to instance boost with a Kara equipped 70 mage, at that time.

I boosted 2 toons at a time, and only took 3 nights for each group to go from 1 - 54 this way.

I wasn't going to be using it as a means to boost my own characters, I've been doing that just by boosting RAF linked accounts in instances.

It was to help my GF level a bit quicker in Northrend. She's trying to beat one of the guildies to 80 - both are rogues....but the other guildie has his lvl 70 welfare PvP gear...so has a wee bit of an advantage.

I was wiped after work yesterday, so didn't try it out.

Think that rushing her through quests up to 73/4 would be fasted, after that she can tag, you can kill, she should then reap full xp when the mobs are still green to you.

So if she tags a mob that's green to me....and I kill it while out of the group....she will still get 100% of the XP from the kill as though she killed it herself?

I say just try it and find out. Let her kill a 70 by herself and note the xps. Have her just wand another one and let the rogue do the rest and compare the xps. Should only take you a minute to find out if it works.

Im not sure but i think a 70 is gray for a 80, but just take a 75/74

My bad, I got the characters reversed. I was thinking the rogue was the 80.

Just reverse the classes in my last post, and that's what I was trying to say.

Does the character grouped with the rogue have to be in proximity? EG, could they be in Orgrimar while the rogue and warlock is in Northrend?
I just did a quick test. With two toons in a party, the toon with the pet out of party, the two toons get exactly the same experience for just tag and run, letting the pet kill it as they did when they killed it. Still in the party, but remove the second toon a ways off, and the remaining toon gets full solo experience on the pet kill, the far toon gets none. Move the second toon farther away, and the remaining toon gets almost nothing when the pet kills.

So, for what you intend, the pet trick wouldn't really work very well. Better to instance boost, or party up and take the kill experience nerf to get quests done faster.
