    Default 2 dsp vs dps/healer

Trying to level my DK a bit faster, and was thinking of dual boxing him.

Question is, of the 2 toons that could be possible playmates, one is a lock, the other is a druid.

Should I go with the mass dps route (DK is unholy, lock spam seed) for mass AOE effect ? (possible down time die to eating/mana issues)
Or go the other way and just have the druid heal him (for less dps but 0 downtime due to healing...)

I'd go withthe Druid, but probably specced balance, you still get heals, but you get all the other toys to play with as well

A lock played well has no downtime. Niether does a dk, especially if you go into blood enough for rune tap/adv rune tap. Spec the lock at least far enough into affliction for soul siphon and be sure to life tap and you won't run out of mana or hps. Even if you don't do that you can just drain health, but with the dk beating on a mob it might not last long enough for that to really help get health back. In my experience, dk and warlock have less downtime than any other classes, my dk never needs to eat, and my lock rarely eats or drinks, maybe a bandage here or there as its faster.

I actually like unholy, due to the aoe it brings. I think I am going to go the DK/lock route and see what happens.

I would go with a DPS + hybrid. That way, you can alwas fire off a heal when specced as DPS or you could later respec to healing. I'd prefer a shaman, because he's got mail armor which makes him more PvP-viable.
Chosing 2 hybrids(shaman + druid) would give you even more possibilities.

Run with the druid. Throwing the occasional heal will prove invaluable I think. To minimize downtime, keep the druid in cat form and just put a /castrandom macro in all of the cat form action buttons, that way you always keep your mana up for when you need a heal. Just bind some extra keys for healing, then back to cat form. I guess you could go balance and park him at a distance, but if you are doing one melee toon, adding a second isn't that difficult. I'm dual boxing druids right now, to join my existing ones at 60, and managing 2 melee isn't all that difficult, as long as /follow is in every macro, and you pay attention to the alt to make sure he is facing the mob.

I would go with the druid and just put it on /follow and toss regens when needed and for the buffs and damage shield. If you need more dps, spam Wrath, or go feral and get the attack crit heal buff.

I would run a Boomkin with the DK, for the buff and the heals and the survivability. You have decent DPS and heals on both. The Boomkin can hang back on fights, and while AOE will be harder, you also have knockback and DOTs like fairie fire and insect swarm. You also get a decent group buff as well. Macro some simple Boomkin rotations, and heals, and you should be good to go. I love my Boomkin, I miss her when I run a team without her. Plus, when dual specs come, you can switch from Healer/tank or healer/boomkin or tank/boomkin. Lots of flexibility there! (However, gearing a boomkin takes some research)

If you go Lock, go pure dps for nuking, as your DK should hold aggro and the lock can hang back and nuke from far away, and you can put your DOTs on simple macros. I run a demon/destro lock with my team, and while he's very very good to have, as I don't have a tank (felguard is my tank), a felguard would be a waste with a DK.
Prot Pally • Destro Lock • Holy Priest • Boomkin • Arcane Mage

Heroic Bosses Down: Moorabi • Kologorn • Ormorock • Prince Keleseth • Eck
