Vista 64 & Windows 7 Crashing/Freezing.

Before i start writing down a wall of text id like to ask around if anyone has had or is having computer freezing and keyclone windows stopping to respong when running Vista 64 or windows 7.

I have new hardware , Reinstalled Vista 64 and now running Windows 7 twice updated and upgraded any possible chiptset and bio updates i was able to find.
But unfortunaly im still getting computer frozen or one or more chars freeze.

Is there anyone who heard about similir issues and can guide me to a solution id be incredible happy. Ill start out with this if you want to know any system infos ill be happy to provide you with it.

I run vista 64, no problems.

random crashes is a lot of times bad ram. Do a ram burn in type test.

I had similar issues after upgrading to Vista 64 and upgrading my hardware. I replaced my new Ram chips with another brand and replaced my power supply, but the issues remained. As long as I wasn't gaming, the PC was perfectly stable for days. I decided that maybe my video card was the problem, so to help with cooling I upgraded my case. Nothing changed, so I started looking at forums and reviews and found that my 9800GT video card had a really low factory fan speed setting to keep it quieter. There were a lot of complaints about the card overheating. I installed Rivatuner and moved my fan speed up from 30% to 50%. The problem completely vanished.

I hope your problem is similar because it's an easy fix for something so frustrating. Good Luck!

I had problems with one of my boxes crashing at O/S level and instances of wow at quitting ramdomly.

transferred the contents to a Coolermaster Stacker 832 (and added 4 additional fans to the side door bay and Zalaman fan controller) also installed an uprated PSU.

I did add another 4 fans last day so it has 1 extra in the front 1 in the back and 2 in the side panel.
You want to see my hardware you said any easy way to do that ?
I will double check the temerature on the graphic card. The problem is indeed similar to what you guys describe. Had the computer up and running all night logged on and had 2 crashes in the morning.
Now i played for 3 houer no crash but it can happen anytime its been hard to find the accurate problem and when it happens.

I did run the "Realtemp" software no heat problem on the processor as i can see.
Ran Prime95 10 minute into the burn it just rebooted the PC , restarted it ran Prime95 again then it went fine for 4 houers then i been playing on it since then without crash , Still waiting on it though..

Id so much want to locate the problem so i could replace the hardware fauling :P
Ill look into the Rivatuner if that work for my system that is. Most of the people i have asked have replied "sounds like a heat" But the more i dig into it the more i see zillions of possible causes. )=

you can run a program like 'everest' to see what hardware you have. Though you sound quite pc fancy, installing fans etc yourself, i'd guess you know what's in your pc.

Anyhow. The reason I asked was, some suppliers give out factory oc'd graphics cards. I personally run 2x xfx 260+ black edition. These cards are overclocked from 576 mhz to 666 by XFX. You'de think this makes it fine and properly tested. Well, I had to underclock them back to standard to not crash. Crashes would appear prety random as well

Had another crash :P , so im now checking the heat issues on graphic card. opened the chassi and put a large ass fan straight into the ATI Card and its REALLY cool we will see if it lasts. Cant do much more today anyways tomorrow the store opens and i can start sending back parts i guess unless i can find out today whats causing the rebotts&crashes

To test for overheating, remove the side of your case and run the system like that and see if you still get crashes. If you do, theres a good chance its not an overheating problem - find a download for memtest86+ and run that for 24 hours or so and see if any memory errors come up.
