Its nice having every profession covered by your team. I have 450 of everything except BS on my guys, and I hardly spent anything leveling them -- just gathered mats as I leveled, and whenever my bags were full of ore/skins/herbs/etc I would powerlevel something until my bags were empty again. I rarely ever sold stuff on the AH, instead anything extra I sent to alts (who had their own guild banks) and stored it all -- I have a herb alt, a ore alt, and a enchant mats alt.

Now I'm leveling a DK, and I'm making him a JC/BS. I haven't bought anything from the AH yet, instead I just had him join my "ore alt" guild and he breaks out of the guild bank whatever he needs to level. I think he's 200 BS and 220 JC right now, and I'm probably going to go need to do a few hours of ore-mining in Ungoro to get him to the next skill level, but I'm in no rush (the DK is only level 62 lol). I have stored away probably 400 stacks of saronite ore so once he does hit 350 it'll be easymode leveling him in both to 450. I do have 30k+ gold so I could easily buy everything I need, but I hate giving other people gold in WoW

imo the most important thing is having a herbalist, skinner, and miner on your team. You don't even need to gather as you level, just when you hit 60, 70, or 80 spend a few hours on each just running around farming/leveling - altho leveling skinning as you level your team is a good, since you don't even need to switch screens to skin -- use macro like /cast [target=focustarget] Skinning
See, but a lot of people don't realize how much "a few hours of each" is costing you.

Sure, I could spend 4 hours getting all the mats I need (probably take a lot longer than this) to level BS from 0-450, and another 4 hours for JC, etc etc. Or, I could run Dailies for 4 hours and get 4000+g and have enough to level JC from 0-450 on 2 characters.

Its all perogative of course though

I'm curious - how do you make the 4K from heroics? Even if you DE all the items that drop I can't imagine that adding up to 4K? I think I need to hurry up and get my DK to 80. :P

But I agree, once you have a team at 80, you're usually better off doing dailies and buying the mats, rather than going out and farming them yourself. Of course I have seen mats pumped up to ridiculous prices on the AH on occsaion, so your milage may vary.

Why? Many people do this. You can do 17 dailies in ice crown in less than 1.5 hours, most of these are worth 13.X gold some are worth 22.X gold (x 5 for 5 boxers). Also you get miscellaneous items to sell, DE, etc, while doing them. Pretty simple math

Sorry must have misread your post. inch:

One thing I think I should point out though - capping out your dailies (i.e. doing 25/25) will net you around 1700 gold...so 4K in 4 hours, while possible, isn't going to be in one session. It will be accross 3 days...unless you have multiple teams at 80.

I've selected what I think are the most efficient quests in Icecrown and have been doing them on two level 80 teams every day for a few weeks now.

Takes me about 80 minutes to finish 9 13g dailies and 2 22g dailies on 10 toons - right at 1500g per day. Both teams have epic flyers and now that I have two decent computers I run both teams at the same time. Cuts about 15 minutes off what my time when I was running them seperately.

They've all gotten the Bread Winner acheivement (make 10,000g from quests) and I only have 10K across all my toons. Makes me realize how much money I've blown since Wrath came out.

    My wife would be proud.

Oh, and now I have another team at 77 with regular flyers - they'll be making the daily circuit too when I've got enough money to get them epic flyers. Then I can blow 2250g per day instead of 1500g! Woot!

Oh, and one more thing before the OP's original topic got detoured by the money making talk - you had a question about running heroics. Like many others, my two teams are running heroics daily. But of my 10 level 80 toons, only one has a profession - one of my tanks is an enchanter. So no worries - no matter which professions you select (or don't select), you'll be able to run heroics with no problem.
