So....in power levelling our characters up to 60 using the RAF bonus, how many of us now have classes that they don't know how to play?

I've found hellfire penninsula quite unforgiving of even classes you know how to play and dread to think of how many corpse runs I'll be on with my new classes.

What do you guys do to overcome this knowledge gap?

Also....when it comes to levelling weapons/defense, where do you go to do so? I was thinking something like equipping a crappy grey weapon and heading to Scarlet Monestary. The mobs are mostly melee...and at 60, they shouldn't be able to do too much damage to you. As they're elite...they'll be able to take a good amount of hits before they die...allowing you to level up these skills. Sound like a plan?

I personally combine reading about the class (wowwiki / EJ) with trial by fire.
It has served me well, and currently the only two classes I don't know inside and out are warriors/rogues.

Well, i find that after playing WoW for many years i know the most about every class in the game.
When i create a new char i haven't leveled before i still kinda know the general idea about how to play it.
But mastering a class takes a long time.

I read here, EJ, and whatever pops up on search (litchborne series was great for dk) and I ask my co-workers. Still trying to get the warlocks to work right, so was bugging them about that. If that fails, trial by fire, rinse and repeat.

Elitist Jerks. Forums are good for people who like to know all the hows and whys and theory-crafting behind "OMG, XXX is so OP!"

Despite the name, it's a very good sorce of information sometimes. Other times, it's kinda dated and hard to sift through.

I tend to take whatever I find there and use it to look deeper elsewhere {class specific sites are always good}.

    To be honest,
I've already played every class in PvP (Pre BC) and I guess 6 lasses (in BC) never had a Problem with any. I'm not the uber Pro but I kinda know what they do to me, and keep that in mind.

Watching PvP Movies helps a lot and is most of the time entertaining. (In my case, but I'm also a Copycat, if I see something I can Copy it almost perfectly kinda)

An even better idea would be to wail on the mobs that patrol the rim just outside the dark portal.

Can't remember exctly what they're called...shadow cultists or something? They're basically immortal without a quest item so they stay permanently on 1 HP.
Just beat on them, once your health gets low run off bandage rinse repeat!

I thought they fixed those so you couldn't do that anymore. I know, however, you can still use the mage guy in the cave there....forget his name. He's in the same cave as Kelris. He also goes immune and allows skillups {as of a week or two ago}.

Edit - Also, don't forget, INT does effect the speed at which you skillup weapons. Grab some int pots or gear before you go out. Wish I'd remembered this before we started trying to get my husband's pally skilled up.
