Default Heroic Multiboxing - Mixed class - where to first?

Over the past few weeks, I've read a lot of the tactics in the PvE heroic dungeon strategy multibox thread, but nearly all the ones that are well return depend on at least 4 shamans. They take advantage of shaman specific things such as chain lightning for dealing w/ adds, tremor totems to block fear and grounding totems to negate spell casters. Well when I first hit 80 I did a minor gearing/speccing prep and headed to a few of the dungeons marked "easy" and didn't get very far. I decided to put it off until my gear on the whole was better across all 5 of my primary toons and I think I'm ready to jump in again... what I'm looking for, however, is an idea of what instance I should go after for a mixed class multibox run?

    Tank - Pally
    DPS - Mage/Warlock/Huntard
    Heal - Priest

Any suggestions appreciated, but absent feedback, I'll try out Utgarde Keep first.

Well, as long as you make sure your tank is geared enough for heroics (crit immune, decent hp/avoidance) and you healer lasts longer then a minute. Just do whichever heroic comes to mind and see how you do.

Whilest many tactics speak of shaman related things that makes certain fights a cakewalk, it doesn't mean they aren't doable even for shamans who don't use those tips though.

Well here's a thought ... the first boss in HoS is probably one of the harder MBox bosses for most groups because of her nasty shadow damage AoE. However, if you have a Demo Lock with a really buffed VW she suddenly becomes very easy - just have your pally sit out and heal for the fight (along with your priest) while the VW tanks. The AoE damage doesn't hit the VW nearly as hard as anyone else and if you do end up losing them, a quick Taunt will get the pally in to replace it. Add in the fact that your priest can toss up SR, and you suddenly are in a much better position for that fight than a lot of P+Sx4 groups.

    Default So far for me...

Depends on your goal, if it's badges and some easy loot, then my mixed group (Pal, Pri, Mag, 2x Sham) has so far had the most success with Gundrak, for the Snake boss pull him up the stairs and he's stupid easy for my group (admittedly I have a Nature resistance totem), Moorabi isn't too bad if you can heal a bit after the quakes (or have better latency than I do and don't let him mammoth on you in the first place). Last night I did Eck, with a taunt and a Nature totem he's pretty easy as well. For me, farming for badges on a limited time budget, it's the fastest and easiest of the heroic lot to spend 30 min and kill those three, it doesn't hurt there's only 6-7 easy trash packs involved and a few single pulls for the mini-circuit.

For full clear I can actually do UK with no real boss issues, but there is a *lot* of, in my opinion not particularly lethal but high hp (time wasting) trash in there to wade through for the same badge count.

Keep was easy for my team {below}. First boss, keep dropping explosive traps every cooldown to help kill the iceblocks. Pull him out of his room and around the corner and keep all your guys close. Between the trap and consecrate, you shouldn't have to worry too much about losing DPS. Found it far easier than having to swap targets. The rest of it was just cake. It was embarassing.

Drak'tharon was another easy one after the first boss. The guys that drop pools of death on the ground really sucked until we started just kiting them. It'll require a little coordination on your part, but my husband tags them Captain America-style from max range {trap one if you like} and runs away, my DPS just tears the evil one{s} down while they're {trying to} chase the tank. Then he stops and rounds up the others and DPS as normal. After that, it's mostly just trying not to get too many of the UD from the first boss's room. You've got fear ward having a priest, so you're ahead of the game on me when it comes to Dred.

Gundrak was a pain to get used to and I still grind my teeth everytime we engage the elemetal boss. You'll be getting a *lot* of use out of your nature res aspect through the snake boss, the elemental boss and Eek. But Moorabi was cake. The first boss, if tanked up near the top, is so easy. The last boss was a pain until we started tanking him at the top of the stairs {make sure you're inside the circle so you don't get gated out}. Tank backed against 1 side, dps and heals against the other side...he won't knock people out of healing range then.

Those are the first three we worked first. I also added CoT:CoS to my "free lewtz" list this week. It's just stupid easy for my guys since pets pwn the snot out of the non-elites, hunters don't need to worry about mana with Viper on the run, and traps keep my healer from getting eaten. You might find that to be pretty easy for you too with a hunter pet and warlock pet. Mana gems for your mage, tapping on the lock should keep them DPSing non-stop...and all those undead + instant-cast holy wrath...still makes me giggle.

My goal is badges I can farm as often as possible. My lock is Demo, so I'll try the voidwalker trick (I used my voidwalker on four horseman last night and was astonished to see him at 39k health with raid buffs, our tanks were jealous). All my toons are geared such that Naxx-10 is a cakewalk and my tank is usually the MT in Naxx-10 and suitable as an off-tank in Naxx-25 so I think I'm alright there and my healer regularly takes 2nd or 3rd best healer spot in Naxx-25. As for the snake boss, I have the hunter nature resist so I'll give that a swing. Thanks for the feedback. I'll report back my experiences w/ Gundrak and UK after I try them out. From the description, I'm not too sure about Drak'tharon. Maybe once I get Gundrak and/or UK firmly under my belt I'll give that a shot. Probably will be this weekend as I tend to get called into raids during the week.

    Tank - 535 def
    DPSers - at least 1000dps

Most gear on all your toons close to or above 187. Lots of Crafted gear helps. Crafted pvp gear fills in some slots till you get better pve gear.

Make sure you can do Utgarde Keep on normal with no issues and you understand all the fights especially the 1st boss.

Now do it in heroic. Farm badges from here daily till all your toons have their necks, trinkets and off hands (shields).

Then go do HGundrak and HCOT.

Tank is 540 Def w/ 48.3% mitigation no buffs. 25k base health and 23k base armor.

My D P S ers all put out well over 1k DPS. They each have between 6-8 level 80 epics whether they be crafted or drops from raid. All the other gear is best that can be had from either crafting or non-raid quests (did ALL group quests in Storm Peaks and Icecrown).

My healer has 10 level 80 epics including some that come from Naxx-25 and has an HB unbuffed at about 1800. (Consider Shammy HB tends to be higher than priest HB)

I'm not going to try the normals....

My advice to you is try to gear up as much as possible with crafted items and ah boe stuff. My first heroic was gundrak. I still think its pretty easy because most of the bosses are tank and spank. For the elemental guy just spread your guys out so the only puddle they are standing in is their own. Your priest should be able to aoe heal through the damage. Make sure to taunt the elemental because he will go after your guys. The last boss hits pretty hard. They removed the little corner stone that kept all your guys together. What I do now is put two on once cide of the room with back against wall and two on the other. I tank the boss in the middle so when they get thrown around everyone is still in range. When I run gundrak I start on the east side entrance and do the troll and little merlock guy first. Then I exit and go to snake boss at west entrance. This keeps you from clearing that line of trolls. It makes the run faster cause all you have to clear is some snakes.

Once you start doing UK it gets easier. Be sure to not cast by moving to stop any casting during the roar. And decurse when he puts it on your guys. Aoe heal after the roar and just dps. Run through the guy on the slams so you take no damage. You will be wiping a ton once your start heroics. Just keep at it. Once you start getting gear upgrades it becomes much easier. My healer started with 1200 healing now he has about 1945. My mages had 1045 spell now they have over 1500. Just keep at it.

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”

I have all the crafted gear on all my toons that make sense. All clothies have the 2 cloth pieces or better. The hunter has the epic crafted mail pieces or better (T7.5 pants). All toons have their 2 JC patterns and except for my tank, they all have the crafted cloak or better. My priest has the spell damage mace. My lock has a VERY good staff from four horseman chest. My hunter has the crafted gun. Both the mage and the lock are above 1300 spell damage without buffs.

I gave UK a try this past weekend. I wiped about 10 times before giving. up. It wasn't the constant failure that made me throw my hands in the air as much as it was the fact the dungeon reset and my repair bills were getting to me. I did have the first boss down to below 10k health twice so I know with patience I can perfect it.

I used the rest of the day to gear up my tank more and gained about 2k health, 2k armor and an additional 3% mitigation as a result of running 5 heroic dungeons, VoA then OS then Naxx full clear all in one day (it was a busy day).

I spent the next day running my hunter in Naxx 25 for a full clear and realized that my DPS just sucks totally compared to what I got before patch 3.0.8. I used to break 2k DPS without even thinking, but now I was struggling to break 1400. I did a little research and respecced from BM to Survival. As soon as I get my new pet (had to stable my devilsaur) to 80, I'll see how he does with the new spec and shot rotation from elitistjerk.

My priest does ok. I'm not happy that they added cooldown to COH to make the multibox AoE heal more challenging, but I suppose I can use holy nova more.

From my experiences this weekend, my plan is to resettle my hunter on his new spec until he is putting out 2k dps (or something close) again and to get 2 specific things for my tank... that is the Red Sword of Courage and the Essence of Gossamer. Then, I'll make another swing at multi-box heroics. Per your suggestion, I'll give Gundrak a try.
