As long as you didnt click on any links then just delete the email and move on with your life, it was a fake email intended to steal your login info. Blizzard does not send emails like that.

It was a fake email. Blizzard does not send emails like this. I'm sure you think you know where it was from but your wrong. Just delete it and move on bro.

As has been said, this is FAKE. It's a phishing attempt - DO NOT provide your account name or password via the links given in the email.

if your account is in suspicion of illegal stuffs, they'll take a note of it. if they wanna do something to it, they'd lock it first, then have you verify stuff later. this has been their practice for as long as i can remember. you guys are right, this does sound phishy and it goes against blizzard's characteristic shoot first, ask questions later philosophy.

It's too easy to abuse email servers into sending mails to people with whatever the heck kinda sender email you want it to say. (you send email to your email server, usually automatically sends your adress with it. Doesn't take a complicated hack however to send another email address as sender.

Note, email-servers do register many other things, so if someone would abuse this for illegal purposes, there are ways of tracking people down. :P


Anyhow, just know that sender in an email means jack all.


In highschool I used to send prank emails to teachers about classes that supposedly fell out using a fairly easy hack that made it appear the email came from the director of the school. I was such a baaaaad boy. :< It worked a few times too. And they never found the culprit! >:P

Blizzard would never spell "Regards" wrong. In the email it is spelled Regaurds.

I just sent it to them added that they spelt regards wrong
