Hybrid View

I tried this last night but did not seem to get any better frame rates. And the resolution options get all screwy in WOW because it thinks I have one big monitor.

And forget about maximizing windows because then I get one huge screen of whatever instead of it just maximizing on a single monitor it spreads across both.

Is there some fix for these issues? I have dual boxed in dual view...sure the framerates arent great but it works. And I dont expect much since I had both instances of WOW running at 1600x1200. I just wanted to see if the horizontal span would speed things up at all...but I really cant compare because the WOW resolution settings are all screwy after switching to SPAN instead of Dual.

Do you guys just run them all in windows and size the windows as best you can to fit on a screen or is there some way to define the window size manually? Basically I want to boxes of wow maximized on each of my 2 screens. Is there some way to do that in Span?

I'm currently using 2 video cards and seperate monitor in each of them, and when I enable dual view one monitor have decent fps (35-40) the other is not that good (10-25)

Is there a way to take advantage of the power of individual card and make both montor display playable?

i looked into doing multi cards... the main issue when running 2 cards is having enough power. if you have a 400W power supply, that might not be enough.

    just some food for thought.

I don't think power is the problem, I have enough power for graphic card.

    Any other suggestions? Thanks.

I'm using XP Pro, I know that one card using dual view will decrease, however I thought having 2 cards eaching processing their own stuff will be better?

    No.

The problem is with how DirectX renders over multiple displays.

The bug is fixed in Vista.

Hopefully XP Service Pack 3 will fix it, but thats not due out until 3rd Quarter '08 :-(

SP3 release candidate doesn't fix it so don't get your hopes up. It probably has more to do with DX9/DX10 that XP/Vista.

I am running Vista with an 8800gt and I don't have an Horizontal span option for the two monitors. I downloaded the drivers but still have no option for this. Is there an option somewhere else like Omega drivers or any such program?
