Question about Arena and reforming of teams on a weekly basis

Hi guys,

In the process of gearing up my druids - with the new personal rating arena formula, is it still worth re-forming teams every week until I get geared enough to start winning games? Will this maximise my points if I'm expecting to lose 10 games / week?

We made some adjustments to the rating system last night that are now in effect.


1. Personal Ratings will now always trend toward Team Ratings (instead of the internal matchmaking rating). This should eliminate the odd behavior players noticed of seeing their PR change in ways that seemed bizzare. It also eliminates the possibility that you can play every game with your team, yet be ineligible to get items when the team qualifies for them (or ineligible to receive full points).
2. You will now gain or lose around 12 points when winning or losing to teams of roughly equivalent matchmaking rating to your own team (previously this number was 8 ).
3. The rating scale has been extended to a range of 240 to about 2800 to more accurately reflect what was possible under the old system. This means that most players over 1500 will experience some slightly easier than expected rating gain as their team adjusts upward to the new scale.
4. Players with less than 1500 rating will still get the same number of points as players at 1500.

So let me see if I understand this correctly. If I lose 10 matches a week and never reform the team I'm still going to get points like I had a 1500 rating?

That makes me feel a bit better, I've been getting my 10 losses in for several weeks now and the rating is <1100... I had worried i was missingo ut on a few points.

Still have yet to play any teams that suck or don't care. In fact I've checked the rating on most teams and I don't think I've played anything under 1600 yet.

People usualy dont set up a 5vs5 team just to lose 10 matches each week, but its far more common in 2vs2.

You can only buy savage gear for arena points now, so there arent that manny who do 10 matches just to lose since pve gear is bascily free atm. (well most content is pugable)

I'm losing my 10 5v5 games a week starting now to bank arena points for the next set of gear to be released.

Then I will join 2v2 teams to get my personal rating up so I can use those points for good gear.
