not that hard, all epics from Kara + a few better badge items and you can get that easily. Also enchants will help alot.

If Armory would update, you'd be able to see my gear. :P

I'm 2 piece t4 (kara) and vast majority are kara epix. Just got ZA chest (not enchanted), and leather drood boots from SSC. I basically quit raiding right as we hit SSC to focus more on my 5boxing and leveling, though Suvega is already heading into BT.

Anyway, 1.5k +healing after kara is easily achievable. I went for more int and mana regen gem-wise.

ya i keep checking your armory but having seen any resto gear. did you change your talents to resto as well or did you keep them elemental/enhancement?

How does resto talents change your +healing on totems? I read through all the talents and have played a resto shaman i just don't know how they actually affect the final product on how much it heals per 2 seconds.

    Healing Stream Totem
    - Gets 6% of your +healing per 2 second tic. Like earthshield, this is determined when you cast the spell, so include it in your post trinket spell spam.
    - With 800 +healing and the restorative totems (+25%) talent, heals the entire party for 82hp every 2s for 120s. Of course most of it is overheal, and too slow to make a real dent, but it's potentially 24,600 healing for only 71 mana! (with totemic focus -25% cost)

got that off the shaman forums

if you have 5 of them that bang out 1500/2 seconds they sure are a replacement, in PvE that is, and the mana efficiency is off the charts, only cost <100 mana to cast it and it last 2 minutes or something crazy.

Throw in 1 resto shaman or even set up some sort of macro with chain heal and that should top everything off then it gets crazy.

just trying to think outside the box

I recorded this not long ago so a friend of mine could see what five boxing is like. Since we're talking about Healing Stream Totems, the SCT spam is giggle-worthy. I don't turn it off because it's just so incredibly awesome.
And don't laugh at my DPS! One of them was resto at the time.

Obviously there is a balance between dmg and healing, so i first wanted to figure out the max +healing/2 seconds i could get, then bring it down to an appropriate level in order to gain sustainable dps.

That video rocked. From what i could tell you NEVER healed? all your healing was from healing stream? what kind of +healing gear did you have? and what was the exact number i was seeing for each totem? was it the standard 70ish from each one for 340/2 seconds?

Plus dont most gear that comes with +healing also have a +dmg modifier as well to spells? So you would at least get 50% of +dmg if you focues on +healing.

I appeared fromt he video that if you NEVER had to worry about healing that makes killing stuff easier to focus on?

Don't remember if I healed or not. In the next room I would have certainly healed on the Fel Overseers. Now that they all are specced elemental, I two-shot non heroic elites so healing is rarely needed.
They each have something like 450 +dmg (so the same for +healing). The totems seem to be ticking for 35-37.
And you're almost correct. +healing gear gives 1/3 its value in +dmg.
All in all non heroic instances are very easy with this setup.

I'm pretty sure the amount the totem heals for would update even if you swapped out gear, let alone dropping the wrath of air totem after dropping the healing stream.

Edit: Would have to test this, though.

I have to admit, I pull decent (note - decent, not COMPETITIVE) dps in a resto spec with 11 pts in elemental for clearcasting wearing only healing gear and the lightning capacitor trink.

Of course, I do have approx 1800 +healing, and I make use of NS+lb.

I melee'd a hunter to death who tried to gank me with my healing mace. This is post-Arcane Shot buff, which means I was never able to keep my earth shield active.

Anyway, I suppose it's possible, but not recommended. You'd outlast anything anyone could ever throw at you, and 5x hreoisms would make up for the fact that you dont' get the reduced cast time on LB.
