I do this too, or I accidentally hit numpad0 (which they have for some reason bound to "jump") instead of my numpad 1-3 heals. The only thing I find that helps is if I actually say the name of who needs healing, and their number, out loud. My roommate so far hasn't asked me why I'm yelling "Pomme.... onnnnnnnne" or "SHINGO THREE SHINGO THREE"Originally Posted by 'Kang',index.php?page=Thread&postID=174097#post174 097
Maybe I should bind it to numpad2-4-6-8 or 1-3-5-7-9 so the position on the numpad matches their place on my screen/place in formation.
This thread has been fun to read mainly because think I have done most of these things with my own group.
Here's a list of my own, enjoy!
1) Autofollow death - countless times, although I did manage to autofollow the "Achievement" to fall 65 feet without dying as well. It was hilarious to see all 5 achievements pop at about the same time.
2) Wintergrasp PvP - now I suck at PvP anyways, but that place is lag city for me. I recall being camped inside one of the armory places and I had flipped to another screen to read about Wintergrasp (during the event, of course!) and an 80 warrior came in and just kicked the crap out of me before I could get back to the screen and start doing anything. Also, I lag like crazy because I need to turn down the graphics settings (I think) but I haven't done that yet because I like seeing all the pretty colors when I am doing my own instance grinding.
3) Quest - I pick up quests with my main and then Share them to get them on the slaves (when that's possible). Well, I can't count the number of times I have forgotten to share the quest so I have to redo the quest to get them for the slaves. It particularly sucks when the quest was to clear the bosses of an instance that I hated running.
4) Quest part deux - I load up the enchanter slave with items to DE but wait until I hit a town to actually do the DE'ing. Well, needless to say, she usually gets overloaded with stuff which leaves no room for picking up needed quest items. Since I have /looter installed, usually I just click and forget, so I sometimes don't notice when quest items don't get picked up. Meaning I have to go back and repeat the quest, after making sure the slave has DE'd enough stuff to make room.
5) Keymashing when the SHF (Sh*t hits the fan) - when in PvP or instance grinding, when things get out of control, I end up just mashing a bunch of keys uselessly. I am reminded of Old School when Frank the Tank talks about "keeping your composure. We can't freak out."
I could go on and on...
World of Warcraft - Bronzebeard (Horde)
Primary team - 4 Blood DK, Disc Priest (110, ilvl 880-ish)
Howling Fjord, Harpoon Surfing....forgot to turn off follow...
Meeo/Nibilus
Good stuff, its funny but I done lots of what has already been mentioned, had my alts go plummeting to their deaths since I forgot that they are following. Healing with my priest or druid I am not very coordinated yet and they tend not to heal those that need it. Putting an insta cast spell on my pulling button, has gotten my shaman killed lots of times. Forgetting that hitting my auto follow does nothing when I am with 4 live players I do it all the time and it dont click until after I have done it. Typing to a tell or guild chat just to see that I hit one of the numbers and all my guys are being killed by the local guards cause I just attacked another player, oops my bad, and then I have to run and rez ><. So many other things, full of fail lots of time lol. Glad to see that I am not the only one.
Daggerspine Alliance: Phoebus(Tank), Soozanuna(Heals/Tailor), Angakak (Enchanter), Wakantanaka(Herb/Alch), Znakharka, Jonhyone(JC), Marious(Other Tank/BS), Magnux(Enchanter), Coyolxhauqui(LW)
best fail has to be equipping you're flying mount to fly off the lift at aldor in shattrah but forgetting you have key clone on pause and watching you're slaves fall to their death![]()
I finally broke down and went into my settings and disabled 'Dismount while flying.' Leaving the airship this morning, I flew off with my mouse, reached up to my keyboard and put my fingers on "ESDF" instead of "WASD". E is my 'buff' macro. Needless to say, it was raining shaman.

My biggest fails..
- Thinking a paladin & 4x shaman could easily take down Princess Theradras in Maraudon at around lvl 45. Since this was my first encounter with a nature immune mob, I was 3/4 OOM before I realized my lightning bolts were doing no damage. Wipe. Next attempt finished her off with only the paladin alive, but I had used a ton of consecrates, flame shocks, and searing totems to take her down. This was the first instance where I actually had to work to defeat a boss.
- Thinking I could easliy take down the beholder (1st boss) of AC around lvl 65. After countless wipes, I "beat" the boss by running far beyond him, dying, and then self-resurrecting my shammies past his spawn point.
- Thinking arena would be easier when I hit 70 with a prot pally & 4x elemental shammies. The only PvP gear I had on my team was the main weapon for spell power, and I was really gimped using the prot pally. It basically meant I started every fight only 4 vs 5, and my record was around 2-18 before I decided it was pointless to do this without either another shaman, or an another player as the healer to replace the pally. The funny thing though, the guild I've recently joined on Kalecgos has the 5 players I slaughtered in one of my 2 arena wins. When I transferred my characters over and joined the guild, they all remembered me from 9 months earlier in the arena.![]()

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.
Haha new one. Just got flying nr well i thought i put all the same mounts on all the same buttons for two button mount for all. Well low and behold i was just having fun flew from nesingway to bt and realized one of my were still at nesingway on his deathcharger not his bone chicken lol. Man was i mad it was like omfgipwnd myself haha.
They say spiders have 8 legs well i guess im a rare and unimaginable specimen. Ive got 9 legs and my web comes from that 9th leg. HaHa.
I have kind of a running epic fail on this one. I have an N52TE gamepad. I use the little button above the thumb as a state toggle. Well my autorun just happens to be (toggle)5; while my Oh $#!+ macro is on 5. If you fail to let go of 5 BEFORE (toggle) then you get both keypresses and I watch 3x mage dismount and fall to their death along with my priest who hilariously enough casts guardian spirit (big gold wings) and joins them.Originally Posted by 'Siaea',index.php?page=Thread&postID=174235#post17 4235
There was one shining moment to this though. I was running around doing dailies on my team in icecrown. Some horde ran up and flagged in front of me and started /y stuff and emote nasty things. Now I always ignore horde when I'm doing dailies cause, well, I'm busy. So I typed /wave.... That was the day I found out that my Instant death PoM macro on my mages is mapped to W on my N52TE and I forgot to pause keyclone. The horde bit 30k worth of instant damage as I looked around to see who killed him, then about /afk'd out laughing.
