Help -- Utgarde Keep (with Melee team)

Hey there!

Me and my brother has been trying to finish Utgarde Keep for awhile now, but we can't seem to find the trick to get the last boss down. Our setup is as follows:
My brother - Warrior Tank
Me - Healing Shaman (Leader), Affliction Warlock, Combat Rogue & Feral Druid.
all from levels 70 to 73

The problem seems to be that my meleers are put on follow of the tank, and when he runs to avoid the big evil Smash, they sometimes get stuck in it. We've gotten him down to about 80% in his undead form and I thought I could come here for some advice, hehe.

Everything up to him runs smoothly now, but he seems to be a real melee killer Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Not sure how it works on the lower levels as I never did UK before but on heroic I just heal my pally through the smashes.

Y'see the smash part you could indeed heal through, but it would be a pain with your guys' setup.
The DARK SMASH! part, after he's died and come back, actually hits for about 1-2 meters behind him (or 3-6 feet if you prefer)
I've seen this time and time again on my poor paladin. So I don't believe that /follow will give you enough time to get out of his DARK BUTTSMASH! range.
You're going to need to have a movement key or something so they all can react and run through him right away.
You're a major melee group, so I imagine this is something you can handle without a breakdown (unlike some of us ranged DPS groups)

I did this on my 4x DKs in heroic several times. At first I wiped a couple times, but like most bosses, once you get the strat down, it's pretty easy from there on out.

Basically, manually position your melee dps behind the boss, when you see dark smash, just hit the back key - so all your melee back up away from the boss. You'll need still need some good heals, but it's not really that bad. Maybe assign healing potions to a key so you can all drink if you get hit.

Given that you're doing the low level version, take your melee members off follow, and stick them behind the boss. Once there, don't move your tank and just eat the smashes.

Thanks for the replies! Taking them off follow might be a good idea actually, but I was hit by an idea before going to sleep yesterday... create a key to make them follow my Shaman (which is behind and away from the boss) this way I just smash that key and they come running, the tank can avoid smash and then hit the follow tank key to return. Would this work?

Hopefully get to test some different strategies today
