get a monkey pet on the hunter and it can tank just fine. Biggest problem with lock/hunter is kill speeds, locks take a while with dots, but can dot a ton at a time, where as a hunter just burns mobs down, albeit he is limited by how many his pet can hold if hes trying to use volley to ae them down. Mixing and maxing burst versus sustained dps can be difficult. I don't really buy the whole each class has to many buttons thing either, having leveled a hunter to 80 and a lock to 73 I'd say they can each do thier jobs just fine with under a full bar (12), and actually alot less to be just fine. marks hunter uses kill shot, a sting, arcane shot, steady shot, hunters mark and aimed shot, an affliction lock (has more dots) would use siphon life, corruption, curse of agony, immolate, unstable affliction, haunt, drain life, drain soul, possibly shadow bolt or wand. Can put your dots in a cast sequence macro and save space.
