Default Drop enchanting on my tank?

My Pally tank for my team used to be my main. Professions are Mining/Enchanting. Mining is a must but Im considerning dropping enchanting for JC...mainly for the craftable trinkets and the little bit of revenue that comes with JC. My Enchanting is only at 325...just enough to DE and will prob never be lvled unless I have unlimited gold and have bought everything for my team. So, is it worth it to drop Enchanting on my main, lvl JC, than lvl Enchanting again on one of my Shammies so I have the DE option?

Problem I have is none of my 4 shammies have a profession currenty, so at some point I need to lvl skinning with one and herb with another(and then maybe ench on another). That leaves at least 1 open prof on each shammie. I have a mage that is currently maxed out in Alch, so no need for that profession besided maybe getting the trinket. So what useful profession would I then pick up on every shammie? Would the JC trinket be useful and worth it to lvl JC on each toon?

I've got the Pally/4xShammy setup, and I wish I started out with BS/JC on the tank and spreading the other skills to the shammies: mine/skin, herb/alch, insc/lw, ench/tail. The extra stats given by the BS/JC combo are better than having mining/nodes on your main. (Which is why I'm currently a BS/Engineer on my pally tank.. but I've come to realize Engineering just doesn't have the benefit of JC in WotLK.)

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

I personally would not have chosen enchanting for the main tank.
enchanting doesn't have any specialty items (enchanting only) that benifit a tank, those specialty items benifit a spell caster more than anything.

I would suggest blacksmithing because at level 400 you can add sockets to your bracers and your gloves and make belt buckles that add sockets to anyones belt.
not to mention that BS makes some wicked tank helm and shield as well as a very good spell casting mace ( and some good intermediate shields ) for your shaman.

as for the jc trinkets or the alchemy trinkets... they are good but not the best in the game.

for a purely money making perspective JC daily rewards is worth a pretty penny on the AH right now, not sure how much it will be worth in the future.
you can make some great JC rings and gems are always nice.

you need to get skinning/leatherworking on one of you shaman. the leatherworking mail gear has some awsome chest & feet gear for your mail wearer as well as a bracer +69 spell buff ( leatherworker only )

Normally I would say yes, get rid of Enchanting but...ouch, enchanting costs by far the most to level or takes the longest to level, and getting rid of it would cause me severe pain.

But yeah, the good news is you can keep mining since the +50stam/500hp is a great tank buff, and just drop enchanting for JC.

JC is also one of the fastest and cheapest professions to level (the mats cost a lot around the 265-300 range but other than that they're really cheap and easy to get).

So its up to you whether you should drop enchanting or not - the bottom line is right now JC provides AWESOME benefits for anyone (tank or not), but after you get epic trinkets, and after new epic gems come out the benefits might not be as stark. But of course JC right now can also make you ~200g a day in about 60 seconds doing the daily

My main is leatherworking/skinning. Works for me. *shrug*. She's a druid,it benefits her. I also have an enchanter/tailor, and an inscriptor/herb (lock and mage), and my rogue, who's starting to level, is JC/mining.

My next team is probably going to be my two shaman and something else, probably a pally. The shaman are eng/blacksmithing and mining/open, so I'm going to have the pally mining and blacksmithing, and make the shaman gather everything, and engineering.

Well, I picked up mining/enchanting when I first started the game about a year ago. Mats for lvling got so expensive that I stayed at 300 for about 8 months....about 2 weeks ago i finally lvled it to de wrath gear. But from the comments here, I am going to drop Ench for JC...if that process is not that painful then I might pic it up on each shammy. Is there a required lvl for the JC daily?

Dropping Mining for BS....that is one I might get to later on.

Leatherworking....I have a friend that can craft the epic chest/boots for free with my mats.....so is the sp buff alone worth it?

Not sure if the JC daily has a requirement of level but it requires JC 375. Level maybe 70 (but you get it from Dalaran so you need to be able to get to Dalaran).

If you don't farm the mats yourself it can still cost a lot to level JC - I think I spent 2500g per char that I leveled it on, but compared to BS or Enchanting thats nothing.

Another benefit to the BS/JC combo being the best overall.. for any character:
    - Extra sockets for gems (BS BoP).
    - Extra 3 unique-equipped epic gems (JC BoP) that are prismatic, so the meta gem requirements are MUCH easier to satisfy while still maintaining your optimal gem loadout.
Both of the above combined makes BS/JC a step ahead of any other two professions. Go ahead.. do the math given all other gear being equal.

you can't drop mining, how would you feed your Blacksmithing or Jewel Crafting ?

as for enchanting. when you start a JC feed all of the items you make to your you enchanter to D/E
same for the leatherworker, make only disenchantable green items whenever possible and feed those to your new enchanter.
if you make tailor, same thing.

I assume your team is over level 70....
when you get your enchanter to the level he needs upper level old school, run scholo or those instances in West/East plaguelands and get those enchanter supplies there ( you can rerun those over and over )
when you get your enchanter to the level he needs upper level BC items, no problem, you can run those instances in no time as well. you can run them heroic as well as non-heroic.
non heroics you can run back to back. pick one you like. Botanica has a large number bosses.

    NO! Don't drop it!

    http://thottbot.com/s59636

You can put 24 stamina on each ring with enchanting. That's perfectly good enough. By being level 325 you're only 25 points away from being able to skill up from WOTLK materials, and you're past the worst part which is 1-300, especially the last 20 levels of it. What profession is going to give you something much better than that? JC is only the "best" because it gives you more options to add extra stats and for the daily, but a boxer makes a lot of money doing shared dailies; the JC daily is only a big deal for a boxer if all your characters can share it.
