Funny...I have JC on 2 chars (tank + 1 shaman) but now that I'm thinking about it and reading this thread again I think I'm going to take it on all 3 of my other shamans as well, just for the +32 SP gems and JC daily for cash

JC = Three +41 stam gems. Also, the JC-only trinkets. I have Crab and Hare with +24 stam gems installed (that's like 2,000 health just in trinket slots).

I have zero pieces of Naxx gear and I have 32k health, 25k armor, 545 defense. Heck, I don't even have many heroic drops either... mostly crafted epics (although they're pretty good).

I love JC as a pally tank.

Sorry, I'm at work or else I'd look up the info myself, but for those 3 +41 stam gems what is the incremental increase over a non-JC stamina gem choice?

For example, if the slots could have been filled with 3 38 stam gems then you're really only gaining 9 stamina overall. (this is just an example as my question is how much increase are those JC gems giving over non-JC gems)

    Non JC = 24 Stamina
JC gets 3x 41 Stamina Gems. And these 3 alone fullfill all Meta Gem requirements.

Bleh, I don't use the 41 stam gems - kind of a waste as I have too much stam already. I use 3 +27 dodge gems since theres currently almost no way to get a straight +dodge blue gem in WotLK. I believe they added subtle scarlet ruby pattern as a world BoE drop in 3.0.8 but no one on my server has it yet.

Yep, it comes out as +51 stamina ahead of non-JC, which is about right considering the non-JC could be a miner for 500hp. However, stam is boosted by Kings, and JC gets the benefit with meta gems. Overall, JC is a huge increase, especially when you combine it with the extra sockets of BS to hold future epic gem drops.

Definitely going to 4-box Diablo 3 after testing the beta for how well this would work.

Wow, it looks like JC is the best prof for tanks

I'm not sure I dare go for 5x JC, but it does seem to be a good one.

mining (as of patch 3.08) is +50 sta, not +500 hp. sta always is better since it scales with kings, just like str is better than raw AP for warrs/paladins/etc.

Don't discount the power of prismatic JC-only gems as well. Especially when you start, and as you gear up, being able to pop in some very powerful gems and have it count as EVERY color (to fit meta-gem requirements) is insanely good. For example, my mage is a tailor/enchanter, and yesterday I got 4/5 T7.5. To use the meta-gem I want however, the +21 crit/3% crit boost, I need 2 blue gems. I have 0... blue gems on my gear. I had to go in and replace two of my +19 spell dmg gems with +9sp/+12sta in order to get the meta-gem to activate, losing 20 spell dmg.

For a tank its even more crazy, since at the start hitting the 535/540 def cap can be hard, and having 3 +27 def gems that match any socket is crazy. As you gear up you sometimes may need to toss in more defense or more stamina or more expertise or whatever, and having those choices from JC is great.

yes, enchanting +24x2 sta is good, but it is no shape or form anywhere close to as powerful as JC's prismatic gems, which scale insanely great no matter whether you just turned 80 or have the best item in every slot.

everything aside, mining would be better to drop as its easier to lvl on another char. if you want to get rid of both and move on to something like BS/JC, enchanting really isnt that hard to lvl until you start getting above 375. so, you can easily put it on another char and farm lower lvl instances. when i picked it up, i lvled it pretty close to max with just a couple days work.

one thing i suggest is while you have mining, visit a profession lvling guide, find out what mats youll need to zerg your new prof, and then collect everything before you drop it. it takes awhile to gather everything (especially thorium...need approx 490 bars for BS and its hard as hell to find alot of), so start saving now.
