Default Do you ever find yourself using the "Pipe Organ Explanation"?

Basically, I've had a lot of visitors over lately, and they invariably all get drawn up stairs to look at my 10 monitors and computers. I guess the awe is kind of nice, but I do what I do for personal satisfaction, not because anyone thinks its cool. Or geeky for that matter.

Anyway, I always get the response "I could never do that.", which isn't really true since multiboxing's complexity lies largely in the set up and tuning. The whole thing made me think of it like someone who plays a big pipe organ. It looks impressive just sitting there, and it gets even better when someone plays it, but its not inconceivable or impossible to do.

That's kind of how I've come to explaining my set up to people. How do other people explain themselves to visitors who've never seen it before?

Odd that you mention a pipe organ, if memory serves there was a discussion on another site about Xzin using a pic of a Pipe Organ and a Little toy Piano, comparing what people normally do to Xzin's ... Organ.

That would be notaddicted.com and the author was Isobelle, who unfortunately does not write there anymore. An awesome site that has sadly died a fair bit recently but some awesome awesome humour there in the archives which I highly recommend checking out.

Oh yea, it was also written during Vanilla wow, when everyone was 60 and Xzin had just gotten his High Warlord rank in PvP, on all 5 chars.

Maybe the word "equipment" wasn't the best choice in this case.

isobelle has his own little blog now, quite a good read and I comment there frequently lol. The link to it is in one of the more recent articles on notaddicted.com. In the comments in the goodbye thread, and in another thread too.

And yes, definately mandatory reading for all the not addicted articles. Some of the stuff they wrote up is absolutely hilarious.

I kind of feel that way, like I'm even playing chords and glissandos and tinkles from time to time. This has been especially true since I started using the numpad as my macro'd heal buttons. One of my favorites is when I'm hitting tab (for target), button 3 (EM/FS/LvB/LB/Wind Shock button. holy shield/HotR/Exorcism/SotR Judgement button on the pally), and button 5(CL on the shammies, consecration on the paladin). It makes beautiful music when I play that particular arpeggio.

But none shall ever set foot in my computer room! The dog is allowed in here, but she is only allowed in the crate where she happily snores and I happily perform my keyboard recital.
