    Default RAF and character transfers

Here's the situation. I currently have 2 accounts. One which my main - a lvl 80 lock is on...and on the other, I have a 31 pally that I've been levelling by boosting through instances. I also have a lvl 28 priest on my main account.

I was thinking of starting a third RAF account (from the Pally one)......and then using the paid transfer to move the 28 priest to the RAF account.

My question is...would I still gain the RAF bonus on the priest?

yes it would, as it is now part of the new raf-ed account. but why pay the extra money when you can easily boost new characters, especially to 28.

You may have a point. I was just thinking that I'd rather skip the time it took to get up to that level...obviously getting the new character up to the same level as the pally would mean doing a fair bit solo...as far as I'm aware, the 3x XP only counts if they are within level range of each other.....however.....(sorry for going out at a tangent here)....how does this sound......

I create the RAF account linking it to the Pally account. On the RAF account I roll the priest that I want...and on the pally account...I roll something else..perhaps a druid....so it would look like this

    Account1 - Warlock
    Account2 - Pally and Druid
    Account3 - Priest

Accounts 2 and 3 would be linked on the RAF scheme.....so I'd dualbox level the priest and druid until 31. At this point the priest and the pally would be equal in level....I make that the new team and continue to level them to 60 on the triple XP. When they reach 60....I then give the gift levels to the Druid.....who is now also 60. End result being that I have a lvl 60 druid, pally and priest.

As I would to bring it back down to two accounts, I would simply transfer the priest onto Account1 and close Account3. From hereon I dual box the Pally and the Priest.

I hope this makes sense.....it's been a long day 8|

    i'd do this.

make the druid. make the priest.

    level it to 8.

take your 80 warlock and run them through instances until god knows what, your hands fall off. then you'll be at the same place, only faster.

    ps. it made sense.

Default Rather long winded, but bear with me...

I took the plunge and created the new RAF account and paid to have it upgraded into a full one. Exluding the RAF account, here's my setup

    Account 1 = 80 warlock - 25ish hunter - 62 Death Knight - 28 priest

    Account 2 = 31 Pally - 61 shaman

Before I go on...my intention is that after I take advantage of the triple XP...I wanna go back to two accounts....

My thoughts are that I want to have a tankable class on each account. The pally is obviously the one for account 2. I don't want to do another hunter...I'd rather level the existing one the normal way. So first thoughts are...wait....DK is a tankable class. I'm doing a bit of RP with that one and a friend, so I'm going to rule that out of the equation for the moment. So I could put either a druid or warrior on Account 1....so that means that whatever one is chosen, it would make the most sense to be on the RAF account. So that brings the question...which one would I choose...warrior or drood. IMO the warrior can only really tank or dps....so less versatile....whereas the druid can do caster or melee dps, tanking and healing plus...druid and pally combo use different gear so no competition for drops.

So my first thoughts then are to put the druid on the RAF account.....which will be levelled with the pally...then transferred to Account 1.

So ...to get the druid up to level 30, I'll level it with another class that I want...what class will I roll on account 2 to level up to 30 with the druid? Following on from the previous conversation, you'd automatically think Warrior then....which is a decent choice as it lends itself to easy dual boxing for being able to do some nice damage while not taking too much themself. This character would get the next 30 levels gifted to him.

So the end result would then look :

    Account 1 = 80 Warlock - 25ish hunter - 62 DK - 28 priest - 60 Druid

    Account 2 = 60 Pally - 61 shaman - 60 Warrior

So now I'm thinking....there's only 90 days in which the 3X XP bonus is in effect. Do I take advantage of this and get more characters up? If I do...do I transfer them onto account 1...or just have every class that I fancy onto account 2? As there are several free guides that are aimed at dual boxing RAF accounts. They tell you only the quests that are kill quests...eg little interaction required with the second account. It would be a bit repetetive, but the end result could be that I'd have several lvl 60s.

What I'm talking about here...is basically..rolling say a mage on Account 2 and another tanky class the RAF. Use the guide and level the mage/warrior combo. When they are 60....roll another class on account 2...say a priest. On the RAF account, delete the warrior and roll another one....and repeat the process. Although this could get boring...as it's 3x XP, the play time is relatively short...and the more often I repeat it, the better I'll get at it. (later in the post this is referred to as option 1)

Or I could roll 2 classes that I want...eg Account 2 has a Mage...RAF a priest. Level them both to 60 and then pay to have the priest transferred. This would have the benefit of less repetition....but at a £15 a character cost. (this is referred to as option 2)

Using option 1, I would also have the added benefit of earning many gift levels. 30 levels for every character I level to 60. So for every two times I do this, I can create another lvl 60. eg....I level a priest and warrior to 60....I then level a mage and another warrior to 60.....I then roll a rogue on Account 2...and using the first warrior, I gift levels to 30....and then on the second warrior I gift levels to 60. Result....in roughly 3-4 game days...I have 3 more level 60s on top of the ones I created earlier.

    Account 1 = 80 Warlock - 25ish hunter - 62 DK - 28 priest - 60 Druid

    Account 2 = 60 Pally - 61 shaman - 60 Warrior - 60 mage - 60 priest - 60 rogue

(This will be called formation 1)Option 1 obviously has the end result of having many characters on account 2....however...I could do a wee bit of rejigging so that instead of levelling the warrior at the very start...I level one of the others...perhaps the rogue. That means the second warrior I level to 60 on the RAF account could be transferred to account 1....like so

    Account 1 = 80 Warlock - 25ish hunter - 62 DK - 28 priest - 60 Druid - 60 Warrior

    Account 2 = 60 Pally - 61 shaman - 60 mage - 60 priest - 60 rogue

The balance here is a bit better (I'll call this formation 2).....for the purposes of dual box levelling from 60 onwards...it means that I could have a team of a druid & pally....and another team of warrior and priest. I think that these teams would compliment each other quite well....a healer and tank in both cases. Particularly the pally/druid will work well as either character could be the tank or healer. That team will be more versatile...tank, healer or dps for pally....tank, melee dps, caster dps or healer on the drood. Warrior and priest isn't quite as versatile, but probably more of a pure relationship....warriors are seen as the purest tank and priests the purest healer. That being said...the different builds for the priest are also versatile along with their health and spirit buffs and also the shield.

Still means that I'd need to solo level the rogue and mage...but I think they lend themselves more to that kinda thing. Rogues with their skills in getting out of a fight with vanish and such like.....mages with their excellent aoe abilities, food making and teleports.

That will cost me 2 character transfers...and hopefully only 1 month subscription on the RAF account.....that being said....I get a free month on Account 2....so the sub costs balance out.....and the £10 to upgrade the RAF from trial to full.

So I'm looking at £40 to have 6 level 60s.

Does this sound like it would work?

Also....sorry for the length of this post....and sorry if it doesn't make sense.

Wow that is almost exactly what I just did. Well, that was the plan.

I had been using my 80 shadow priest to boost a lock and a few other lowbies on a second account. The levels were coming fast but I decided to add a third (RAF from the lock account) account and use the 80 priest to boost while also getting the RAF bonus. I transferred my 36 mage from my unlinked acct to take advantage of the gifted levels, and started a druid/rogue pair on the linked account. I boosted and quested them to 60 in about 32 hours and granted the levels to my mage and lock to get them both to 60. That went so quickly I did it again. Transferred my 30 Warrior, boosted a fresh pair (Shammy/Pally) and gifted the levels to the warrior in about 28 hours.

The plan was going to be to transfer the Pally/Rogue back to the main account, close the RAF account and dual box pairs of them through Outland/Northrend. In the end I decided to keep the RAF account (for now) and level 3 teams of 3:

    DK/Mage/Pally
    Warrior/Lock/Druid
    Rogue/Hunter(70)/Shammy

Those groups are just mowing through quests in Outlands right now and it's a blast to play them. Your plan should work but don't be surprised if you get your toons to 60 and decide to keep that RAF acct.

There were a few negatives to the RAF stuff I found though. Hopefully you have plenty of gold reserves because training alone costs a bundle when you gift levels and have to train from 30-60. Sure you can sell the drops from boosting, but the AH is usually inundated with greens (and enchanting mats from DE'ing said greens) from SM. Not to mention hitting Outlands with outdated gear (you can always grab some cheap greens off the AH or make a few extra Scholo/Strat runs to gear up a bit). Last but not least, there's the whole "ok, I hit 60, now I wonder how to play this class..." thing. Details details...

im still trying to read everything. its been a few hours.

what i wanna comment on right away is this:
you only get your free month for account2 if raf account3 pays for 2 full months of service. so you cant raf for one month, then transfer, cancel raf account3, and think you'll get a free month on account2.

I see, it may be that I end up keeping it for the duration of the RAF bonus to get as many toons past the Vanilla Azeroth stuff as possible.

I actually started last night. I rolled a tauren druid and warrior. Quested/grinded to 8 in no time then using the summon friend...took them both to Orgrimar and started doing runs of RFC with the warlock. It didn't take long before they were lvl 14. At that point I used the friend summon again and boosted them through WC until 20.

I've got about 2-3 hours /played time. I don't remember exactly. I have to say I'm astounded by how fast it is. I already kinda had the whole boosting a dualboxed alt thing down with only having recently done the pally from 1-30 on non RAF XP....but wasn't prepared for how fast it would be. In WC I was getting 40K XP per hour. I stopped on most of the "Druids of the Fang" to see if the gloves dropped....but no such luck.

So tonight I start on Scarlet monestary. When I was boosting the pally on non RAF XP, I was getting around 25k XP per hour....I'll be interested to see what I get on my RAF chums.

As a side note.....with the granting a gift level thing.....can characters from each of the RAF accounts grant a level to the other....or is it only the new acount that can grant a level to the referring account?

Any toons on the new account can grant levels to any toons on the referring account (but not the other way around) provided the toon granting levels is higher level than the toon receiving

Fair enough.....I've decided on my final plan....

    1. I boost the current Druid(RAF)/Warrior(ACC2) combo to 60
    2. I grant the 29 gift levels earned here to the 31 palladin(ACC2) I have
    3. I level a warrior(RAF)/priest(ACC2) combo to 60
    4. I level a paladin(RAF)/mage(ACC2) combo to 31
    5. Get the warrior from step 3 to grant 29 gift levels to the mage from step 4
    6. Transfer the Druid in step1 and the Warrior in step 3 to the unlinked account with the 80 warlock

This way I only need to do the levelling to 60 twice. Levelling the Mage to 31 is easy....the pally on this one will just be left to die...basically only there as I won't need to worry about him dying easily...and could also do heals in an emergency. End result is that I will have 6 new level 60s. From this I don't have a rogue or hunter.....but to be honest, I don't really like rogues...and have a hunter that I'll eventually level normally...or maybe twink.

    [ edit ]
Hmm...just noticed that this will mean a warrior on both remaining accounts. If I replace the Warrior in step 1 with a rogue or hunter...then I'll get round that problem...and have another different class to play with.
