Default Minimum GPU for 3boxing on 1 comp?

just wondering what would be the minimum and cheapest graphics card to 3box on a single computer with main turned up to max and alts at minimum. if it helps the other specs of the computer would be a dual core CPU clocked at 2.8-3.1 GHz and 8G of RAM, with this i figured that the video card would be the bottle neck of the system but i don't know too much about the older GPU's. i have done some research but so far i haven't found anything to help answer my question so i figured i would post here.

all info and help is greatly appreciated! ^_^

    Thanks in advance

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm guessing there is a significant difference between all three on low settings vs master on high setting and slave on low settings.

I play with all three on low settings using my laptop which has a 8800m GT 256 MB.

I've been happy with my 8800gts while three boxing for over a year. But looking at current pricing and availability, might as well get the 9800 as previously mentioned.

FWIW I 5 boxed on an 8600GT with 3GB memory and a dual core 2.2GHz processor for months with 0 issues.

    i have an 8600gtx

    3box is easy peasy.

though, if you use keyclone maximizer, switching between them can be slow. 1-3 second delays.

ok thanks everybody, with current prices i don't see why i should go lower then a 9800 gt; and from what i have read on these forums, it can handle 5boxing as well. is this still true with wotlk? i couldn't really find any newer posts about the 9800 GT after wotlk and how it does, its almost all 9800GTX+ and up for nvidia cards, and radeon hd 4850 and above for radeon cards.

    thanks again everybody! ^_^

I 4-boxed (Everquest, not WoW) using a Radeon HD2600XT 256mb on a Q6600 quad core processor. The HD 2600XT seems to be considered the bottom end of the "serious" graphics cards, per Tomshardware (as in, the cheapest true gaming card you can get). It worked smoothly with the graphics settings all near the low end, I never really tried turning everything up with it. I'm now using Radeon 4850's to run 6 accounts (4 on one computer, 2 on another...will probably do 3 and 3 eventually) with everything set on high (2 1080p monitors), and it's, so far, working very well.

I'm sure WoW's a bit different, but just throwing in my 2 cents if it helps give you any idea. I've always been of the opinion that the graphics card isn't as important as the RAM when multiboxing, and as others have mentioned, the processor and HD configuration.
