Even though each weeks event might result in a huge, exciting slugfest, I think we should have a win/loss goal. For this coming weekend, I propose the following goal(s)
Teams assemble at 9:00 PM Eastern time, and start moving to the goal when ready.
Starting at 9:30 PM Eastern, or any time thereafter, the attack can start.
Goal: Friday January 30, 2009 - Horde attacks Goldshire, and attempts to kill the Innkeeper. Alliance tries to prevent the kill. IF the Horde has killed the Innkeeper prior to [s]10:00 PM[/s] (EDIT10:30 PM)[s](option 10:30)[/s], they [s]"Win"[/s] (EDIT: will proceed to Stormwind to execute the Alliance defended Flight Master, and have until 11:30 PM Eastern time to succeed. If successful, they "win"), otherwise they "Fail". Since this is/was intended to be a Death Knight friendly event, stealthing to attack any NPC, including the Innkeeper (EDIT: or Flight Master) is not allowed, although it should be allowed at part of the PVP conflict.
Goal: Saturday January 31, 2009 - Alliance attacks Razor Hill, and attempts to kill the Innkeeper. Horde tries to prevent the kill. IF the Alliance has killed the Innkeeper prior to [s]10:00PM[/s] (EDIT: 10:30 PM)[s](Option 10:30)[/s] they [s]"Win"[/s](EDIT: will proceed to Orgimmar to execute the Horde defended Flight Master, and have until 11:30 PM Eastern time to succeed. If successful, they "win"), otherwise they "Fail" See above about Stealth.
Discussion:
1. Ending times, [s]is half an hour enough, or should we go for the hour[/s]. (EDIT: voting seems to be leaning towards an hour for each quest, in keeping with the epic nature of this conflict)
2. Does this sound like a reasonable win/fail goal for our first weekend? [s]The Alliance Innkeeper is somewhat better protected by the entry chokepoint, but Razor Hill has more and stronger guards. If even one attacker manages to slip through, the Innkeeper might be toast, so some burden is on the defenders to defend, rather than just have a massive duel.[/s]
In either case, as soon as the alarm goes out that those cities are under attack, our attackers are likely to be swarmed by more than just our opposing multiboxing friends. It will likely be a bloodbath! 8o Even such a simple task is going to be very difficult for level 60 toons, but should be very entertaining to watch and particapate in.
Depending on how it goes, we can scale the difficulty up or down in the following weeks.
Well, what do you think?
EDITED to make the quest two steps, with a difficult, but possible first stage, and a very difficult to nearly impossible second stage. Well, what DO you think?
