Default Question about party1 and focus

I use a focus system. I am flushing out my 10 man team now. I have 5 guys at 76 and the rest are hovering around 60. I want to sub in some guys on my main account and boost them. I currently hit a button and my slaves all /focus Coltimar (/focus Marlun, etc.). Would it work to have them all /focus party1 and then sub in a different tank? I know that in theory this works, but is anyone doing it this way? If this works well I can change a few macros one time and then adjust Jamba for each different group member I sub in.

    Thanks in advance,
    Colt

Did you try this. I do the same thing i use focus settings i actually under general tab for all my characters have a multiple of focus macros. So whenever i go ahead and change out one i just swap that macro. For instance i do this F8-F12 are my pip swap and change focus.

    Toon A F8 /focus main /assist focus
    Toon B F9 /focus Shaman B /assist focus
    Toon C F10 /focus Shaman C /assist focus
    Toon D F11/focus Shaman D /assist focus
    Toon E F12 /focus Shaman E /assist focus

Ok say i want to switch out an alt for Toon D with another toon. You just have another macro on each toon set to this /focus dk1 /assist focus. So all you have to do using the focus macros is just switch out for macros and bing. All macros already say /cast [target=focustarget] spell. So you just switch out the pip macro for that toon and everything works out smoothly. I hope this helps in anyway.

Yeah, I've tried that but the trouble I have is I'm running out of macro space. All character specific slots are taken. Also, I have a ton of toon, like 7, that I will want to sub in and out :/

Here is the wowwiki stub on unitid's. This may help you. Just set the MA to raid slot 1. You are the raid leader so you can move them where you want, correct?

    So /focus raid1 , /focus raid2 etc

    US- Trollbane/Zuljin Horde and Alliance

i would do it this way also, as you can set anyone to be the leader (and will be set as raid1). everyone will follow/assist the leader, whoever the leader might be.

But you have a buttload of general macros i cant imagine all them being filled to but if so holy wow wow. Ok not sure if this worked but couldnt you make a macro saying something in the line of this.
    /focus maintoon /assist focus
    ifnot maintoon
    /focus toona /assist focus

Im not sure how you could get something like that to work but you could put every combo you would want on one macro and then the button push would find whos in group and go along with it. Kinda like a if toona is target then focus else if toonb is target then focus elseif toon c is target focus. Like a computer program for c++. Just a thought not sure if you could do something like that in a macro.
