The other half, though the OP may disagree, is surely the joy of a cutesy guild name.
Oh, you misunderstand, I think the cutesy guild names are awesome. I was really thinking of going with something clever for mine (and "Pieces of Me" was my first choice, and I really did think it was clever :P ) but I try to fly under the radar as much as I can, so I decided to go with a name that wouldn't attract much attention. Or at least, one that didn't cause people to /whisper me with questions. <Pieces of Me> would've definitely gotten a laugh out of my friends and former guildmates.

Before I left my raiding guild to form my MB guild, I would constantly forget to hit pause when i chatted in guild. So I would say everything times five. But when I would remember and just say it on my main, and it was referring to something i was doing with my team, a guildie would say "/gu X 5". for example I would say "/gu I just finished my dailies in 15 mins"! and a guildie would reply " /gu X 5 " So that why I named my guild X FIVE 8) Everything I do IS times five.. perfect name 8)

I think there is an addon that /whos and finds people that are unguilded. I literally had all my slaves invited at the same time to the same guild. I was amused and joined Pink Pwnies long enough to be annoyed and leave. Every time I logged on I would get "OMG", "What a loser", etc.

Heh, I think that "Pieces of Me" is a pretty funny concept. My problem is I take it too far. I had a horde guild a year ago called "Entertainment Tonight" where everyone had to be a celebrity (my pally was Johntesh and my moonkin was Simoncowell). The guild actually got fairly big (15+ unique users) with >80% having celebrity names.

Now I'm considering starting a guild called "Mentos Suck" or something along the breathmint genre.

I'm on Blood Furnace as well and made <Hydra Box Crew> for the same purpose, having my own guild bank for 10+ chars to share rules.

My guild was the first thing i did! My rogue had full bags and bank slots, and I knew I'd need more.

The most humerous aspect of making it was, all the people in SW that signed my petition (for a mere 2g each), was, they all wanted to stay! LOL!

I now have 4 bank tabs full, and my next purchase I'm saving for is the 5th. I save *everything*. Oh, yeah - all my characters have full banks, too.

Did I mention I save everything?

Not junk, but I have stacks and stacks and stacks of enchanting mats, leather, cloth, gems, pots, ore, herbs - you name it! I can powerlevel several professions right now, and still have tons left over. I have more meat and cooking mats, but only two toons that cook! I have about 300 chilled meats, not kidding - and my one 80 cook just started the Dalaran dailies. My rogue has stacks of Netherwing crystals and ore and leather. I have primals and nethers and void crystals...if my account got hacked, and someone cleaned my out, I could never remember all of it. That's why I need to start taking screenshots ocassionally of all of the tabs, just in case.

Yeah, I could sell it all - but gold is so easy, why? I don't want to have to farm all that again!

Now, I'm running BC instances for the fun and achievements, and I'm running out of room saving all THAT stuff!

You know what kills me the most? Not one of my current 3 80's have every had a single epic drop. Not one. My rogue had a couple.

But, I got a Ced's Carver out of the Steamvault last night, I tucked that away for a future alt.

I was debating another guild for storage, but the tabs are too costly, so I'm making Frostweave bags as fast as I can, and getting them on all of my alts, and buying bank slots.

I'm down to 1000g from buying my mage and lock Ebonweave gloves and chests, and gemmed them out, but hey, that's what the gold is for!

All 3 are hitting 1500 on the DPS meter, as of last night. I'm happy. That's with quest blues, and AH epics. Not bad.

    Paladins are Gay.

That was actually the guild name for a time, way back in '05. It lasted several months before it was reported and we were disbanded, and we got a lot of "OMG AWESOME GUILD NAME" comments from fellow horde (this was prior to horde getting paladins). So when we re-formed the guild, we named it <PaG>.

Now that I think about it, I should update my avatar...

Default I love "solo" guilds too

Yup, solo guilds are the best guilds for alts.

My first 5-box team guild was "Beauty and Da Beasts" with a little female blood elf paladin leading around 4 big-n'-ugly male tauren shaman.

But after blasting my way up to level 60 with them (and doing lots of "laser light shows" in Orgrimmar) they became known enough that instead of being spammed with /ginvite whispers I was getting spammed with /w OMGZZERS uR so koolz kan I joinz UR gu1ld plzzzzz...

I haven't decided what is worse.

But, yes, the guild tabs make up for it I suppose.

    OP:
You purchased five extra accounts for the sole purpose of forming a guild...? (Unless I misinterpreted your statement or something.) Wouldn't it have been easier to just ask the people on these forums for help? =/

Also, a suggestion I have for those of you experiencing difficulty getting people to sign your charter due to the prejudice towards multi-boxers is to make a level one character that's unrelated to your multi-box team and purchase the charter/request signatures with this character specifically. Do NOT sign the charter with your m-box team until you've acquired the requisite number of signatures you'll need (assuming that the new character is on one of your team's accounts, then you'll need five more signatures if you're a five boxer). Then /gkick everyone else after you form the guild.

When I rolled on one of the new servers the other day, I used the above method to garner the extra signatures I needed for my charter. I just stood in the newbie spawn area and politely asked people if they would sign my charter PRIOR to actually opening the charter window. Out of the seven people I asked, I received the five signatures I needed. Not a bad ratio in my opinion. The other two just didn't answer my /tells... (NOTE that if you're not playing on a new(er) server, you'll probably have a MUCH more difficult time finding people to sign your charter. At least, I found this to be the case on my old server, although it was a server with a lower population: Terokkar.)
