Seriously messed up new arena system

Bugs and weirdness aside.. there is one big problem with the arena system at the moment.


It has been suggested that the new system will not have deflation or inflation - it should be stable.
Kalgan stated that teams should eventually be distributed in the range of 600-2400 rating, with the median/average being at 1500.


This seems to be a big mistake. People really don't actively play arena below 1400, and they have no real incentive to do so.


I'm not sure what this will lead to, but I'm fairly certain there will be a lot of unhappy faces.
Essentially, Blizzard expects to have an arena segment at 1200 rating that is as big and active as the segment at 1800, same thing as 900 vs 2100. This is just crazy reasoning with their rating requirements on gear and their points distribution curve.
I mean, who is going to be playing at 900 rating and be happy with arena play?

Also, does it mean that one can introduce "perceived inflation" into the system by putting all your level 80 alts at 600 rating?

Well, as it currently stands I have stopped arena'ing as I cannot break 1500 ( I suck, I know!) It's hard when you have to control all 5, wish someone would take the plunge and be my healer or something. Actually no, scratch that. I'm done with arena pvp, guess its BGs for me.

I've done Arena and got my gear and i'm out.
It's clear the more I try and play it that its just a Burst-fest I don't see how any team (including top rated teams),can play it any other way.
This even bleeds through to BG's atm, and with Blizz deliberate disregard for AV in favour of pushing Wintergrasp it means any play is just Zerg/CC/AOE move along.

I don't, after hundreds of hours of AV I haven't stepped into any of the BGs in weeks and don't miss it at all. I do love Wintergrasp however, I only play a few hours a week but its great how its non-instanced, that the fight is 30 mins or less (usually 10 on my server), that it doesn't run 24x7 so each battle "means" a bit more, there is no scoreboard so people try to help instead of every-man-for-themselves, and the zone is massive and lots of fight areas instead of the 1-2 most BGs devolve into. Only thing that is horrible is the lag.

I always stood by my opinion that the first world pvp area to include spirit rezzers instead of corpse runs would be a smash success. Looks like I was right. Corpse runs always killed world PVP, from Tauren Mill/Southshore all the way to Halaa. They're fine for levelling, but corpse runs have no place in pvp unless they're used as a backup option to spirit rezzes.
