10 boxing Everquest....no sex swing

Lots of empty zones. Only places with people are PoKnowledge, guild lobby, newest expansion, the expansion just before that and some "hotzones" (random set of zones SOE chooses to recieve bonus exp. for leveling). If you are not already high level, Norrath is a ghost town. General channel usually have around 180 people on my server and occasionally will go over 200, which makes a General channel 2. Seen it as high as 100 people on general 2, so would assume still around 300+ people on my server at times. I am in a guild and honestly, if it wasn't for that, I'd have stopped playing EQ long ago. My guild makes EQ seem like other people actually play it. But it is nothing like it was before in 1999 when I started and everywhere I looked, there was a player running around doing something...although virtual game world size, EQ has probably grown 10x since 1999, so much much much bigger game world.

Although when I go to a camp I want and someone is already there, I think there are too many people playing EQ.

Nice setup, i have a similar 5 comp setup. couple questions for you, are u using a keypad for each eq acct or does multiplicty/keyclone work now? Heh also if you dont mind me asking which monitor mounts are those, they look cool

The 4 monitors on the right are my enchanter on the bottem inboard and 3 mages on the 3 other screens. Each screen has its own computer and X-Keys 58 (just got my 7th x-keys 58 today) and also, each of those comps is hooked up to a vetra multicaster which is hooked up to the single X-Keys desktop 20 keypad to the left of my G15.

The 4 monitors on the left are my shaman on top inboard, druid on bottem inboard, cleric on top outboard and the bottem outboard screen is just for surfing the web, looking up info etc. Each screen has it's own computer and except for the web surfing comp, each computer has its own X-keys 58.

The two center screens, top one uses a G13 and I will run my rogue or tank there and bottem is all manual off the keyboard and mouse and I will run my rogue or tank there. I need the G13 for either my rogue or tank or maybe a G13/n52 for each. Haven't tried it yet. Before I was running an n52 for tank and the G15 G keys for rogue, but now I am using multiplicity and my G15 is shared with all comps and pretty much the G-keys are not usable in this set-up. However, I am having a problem with Multiplicty losing control of EQ on my primary computer....which is the bottem center and as far as I can tell, this a permenent problem and will not be fixed. only work around I can think of is to make my web surfing computer the primary since I do not run EQ on that account to lose control. And doing that will also allow me to run a G13 on both my tank and rogue. Only problem is I have an itch to start a 10th account and have 4 mages. Which would mean I would need an 11th computer...whcih I have...but ...uhm...where to put the screen...Was thinking maybe use my 7" screen or 14" screen and maybe even build a new atom based computer burning less then 60w to be primary multiplicity comp and web surfer.

I am not a big software boxer.....I much perfer hardware, but multiplicty (other then losing control of EQ in primary) works great and is much simpler then a hardware KVM....although I will still run my hardware KVM...just in case.

I bought the first one a year or two ago for $99 and $15 shipping to hawaii off ebay. The second one I just got about a month or two ago. I went to ebay again and the same stand was $129 and $60 shipping. I searched amazon and found the same ebay seller also selling on amazon and got it for less and $15 shipping.

There is also a 6 monitor version of that stand for a few $$ more.

Although that will make the arms much less adjustable because it's just the same stand with an extra arm in the center....but the outer arms are still the same and now will have to make more room for the center screen...so less positioning ability.

I have gone off the deep end and started my 10th account. I will now have 4 mages instead of three. Moved my enchanter to the far bottem left screen and now all four right screens are mages. Also added on an 11th computer to the mix, which is just my ultra-portable laptop that I am using as the primary computer for multiplicity since multiplicity looses control of EQ on primary and doesn't seem there is a fix coming anytime soon as this has been a problem since 2005/6 and still is. Maybe also watch movies on the ultra portable while boxing, although the 5.6" screen is a bit small (so small I won't even try using it as my web brower comp), probably re-arrange everything to better incorperate it. And got a netbook to use as my web browsing computer for when I don't alt+tab out on whatever computer. $320 and probably burns in the 50w or lower range at load. Will not be adding another desktop since when I do, it always ends up with me starting a new account lol

Ya, was a dig at Sam. I always wondered at what point he thought.....24 boxing. If he added a few boxes as he went along or he tried 6 boxing and then went right to 24. I am guessing a big jump as the characters fit that. Mine is like a hoge poge of a single group make up and not really a thought out boxing team. If I started over from scratch, it would be different.

Mage at lvl 54 now and unfortunately I have to go out of town for some bussiness, otherwise I'd have gotten him to lvl65ish today. Plan is to get my shadowknight, mage, mage and mage to lvl68 and then stop using my rogue to powerlevel them and instead..use them all by themselves (with a full heal team of bots backing em up) as this will result in far more exp. then leaching off what my lvl85 rogue kills. Get around 1000aa's and then get levels. May be a while till I actually have the 10 box team doing anything but power leveling my new boxes. It's pretty neat to press my x-keys attached to the vetra and see 4 mage pet's all go after a mob. Those pets are great DPS even without all 4 mages also casting direct damage spells. Then factor that I have 4 mages to rotate casting a huge damage shield on my tank (talking 600+ damage evertime a mob hits the tank) yah...mages add a ton of DPS to the group and are easy to keep off the agro list of mobs. Gonna need to figure out delays so I can make a hotkey off the x-keys on the vetra so each mage will cast that damage shield after the last one wears off. ANd four mage air pets will stun the hell out of mobs...which makes tanking much easier.

man; for some reason you make me want to resubscribe to my 6 eq accounts and go to town; maybe make a team mage, lol. (sk cleric sham + 3x mages or something like that) lol.

massed mages sounds like alot of fun. i want screenshots /videos. lol.

hmm. never thoughta bout air pet stuns. as long as you do research and make sure whatever your fighting is stunnable; then yeah, your stuns are gonna be huge. (kinda wonder why sam stacked wizzies instead of mages, in retrospect). I would imagine your going to absolutely fly through aa once you get them up and running. hehe, your pulls will go down in seconds lol. might have trouble finding sufficient mobs, actually. you dont even really have to tank anything with your toons; you can just kite stuff.

You know, i dunno if i mentioned it before, but i did have a thought (curiosity wise) if, with sufficient enchanters and AOE DPS would it be possible to AE high level mobs. (granted, the AE enc stun has acooldown, but if ya stacked 4-5 enchanters, you could keep them perma stunned by rotating it. hmm, bards do have an AE slow that pulses that mgiht be useful; its not a huge slow, % wise, but might stack well with large numbers of mages AEing.

irregarldess, gonna go console myself with visions of massed mages destroying my former Nemesisis....Nemesi? whatever, in EQ.
