Personally I'm DOMINATING BGs, while still being 100% humiliated in arenas. I often find myself losing 5v3.


And I had a revalation to why this may be: People generally playing BGs are the ones foolish enough to go for PVP gear.
You don't see the PVE geared people in BGs because they have no need whatsoever for PVP gear.

PVE gear is totally dominating arenas.. which is pretty annoying. No I don't think 800 resilience will help.
Usually in arenas when facing non-idiot teams.. their dps:ers have roughly 5 times the damage done that I do.



I'm really starting to give up hope.


Also, the new arena system seems to be causing lots of deflation.. constantly being matched against very very good teams at 1500ish rating at the moment.
One way to solve the burst/dmg problems could be to disallow raid gear in arenas.. which would be kind of stupid I must admit.. but it would certainly solve a lot of problems right now.

Not sure that would help much since raiders can just get an entire set of hateful gear with 25 man emblems

That would be awesome. Problem right now is that damage is out of control if you have naxx25 gear.

haven't tried arena yet since the patch. Since my arena partner (a priest) got hit pretty bad by the nerf bat this patch i'm thinking I might need to get a pally or another shaman as my healer. Not sure which would be better though.

730 resillience and 19k hp unbuffed and i still drop like a rock if im focused by a rogue/druid in eaqual gear (since they will be using pve gear)

I pretty much rock the place when it comes to bgs since im rarley focused on the same char but if a player or even worse my priest gets focused by a druid/rogue hes dead before my lesser healing wave goes off.

Havent fought a team on my own rating yet and we lost 2-14 against 1700-1800 rated teams all the times. There are potential to kill most of the setups but most have a rogue and a feral druid wich pretty much takes a char to 0% within seconds.

I am moving up steadily, I need to make a good push for it but being out of town this past weekend and the arena's fubar'd it is preventing a large gain. I'm at 1753 at the moment and can obtain higher. I just need to play more games.
The biggest part right now to identify is to know when to run and try to survive and completely forget about doing damage. I will routinely run LoS from the DPS and try to stay alive through their cooldowns. Putting pressure on them works as well but just about every class has an Ohhh snap button, so it's relying on more yourself to mitigate their damage as much as possible.

Best news I can say is that teams are running 3 dps 2 healers now which is huge and a much more beneficial fight towards us than 4 dps.

I'm at 1455 at the moment in 2on2 with Holypaladin and Furywarrior. My winrating is by 55%. I have only 200rescilence on both chars. I think with 800 on the pladin and more HP it will be better.

I was going to make a similar post as i wondered how people got on this weekend. I've been slacking on gearing up and leveling enchanting on my shaman, most are now close if not 400+ for the ring ench so thats one job pretty much over. I've also been doing heroics and seeing some naxx. All have badge shield so just trinkets to go.

I've been in the BGs non stop this weekend as its AV weekend for me. AV and EoT i've been pretty much on top of the scoreboard every game and had several 4 tower cap wins in EoTS. Im a lot more positive about the shaman now but i still find myself getting destroyed if i dont play wisely, its all to easy to get into a gang rape situation. I've not bothered with arena but i should have done it for the points. I'll probably pick it up this week again and crawl back from the 1280 rating i went down to...if im lucky All in all, i'm happy playing them again and enjoying gearing them up, with any luck there will be more tweaks down the line regards resilience and i'll be glad im gearing up now rather than leaving it any later :>

Also i need to decide on another tradeskill to get for the self "buff". it will most likely be Leather Working for the 67 spell power ench on wrists...but not being able to skin that could cost a small fortune.

I'm not sure when I'll go pvp myself. I'm very satisfied with the pve content at this moment.

I want to work towards getting s3d down on ten man as a multibox, which is currently my top priority. (Some in my guild are slow encounter learners though for fights as complicated as s3d, so will need some patience. :P )

We got s1d down and on 1 try kill farm, s2d is next and we did make some progress there but one mistake screws it all up!

After me and my mate went over the teams we fought and realise they all are 1900 rated, even faced the team who is ranked first 5 times so 2-14 wasnt so bad. Managed to win twize and eat 25 points twize while we lost a total of 28! :P (since we only lost 2 each fight)

Apperently the new arena system rates us as "uber" skilled in 5vs5 unlike in 2vs2 were i seem to fight team on my own level.
