Default License Expires Once a Day

I'm sure if this problem persists Robert is going to hate me... haha

Its really odd. For the last couple of days, KeyClone's license has expired on me, twice.

I've been playing from about 10pm-5am the last two days, I'm a night owl.

Day 1, was ok. Went to bed around 5am.

Fired up CloneKeys at 10pm day 1, license expired.

Emailed Robert, who updated me on his end.

Fired up CloneKeys, had some issues with it. Tossed the .ini file.

Clean setup CLoneKeys, and continued to be ok.

    Day 2 (12am today)

Played from 10pm last night to 5am this morning. Went to bed.

Fired up CloneKeys about 30 minutes ago (630pm)

    License Expired.

I can't believe it's something on Roberts end. Something on my end must be doing this. Be it software or hardware. I just don't know.

But has anyone else had this happen? It's weird that it's only happening after several hours of it being fixed. Could it be related to me tossing the .ini file?

And if you are wondering, the reason I tossed the ini file in the first place was, I had setup CloneKeys and it was working great. After the license expired the first time, I went back in and my settings were gone. I resetup CloneKeys and then ended up with duplicates, or things missing. I tossed the ini file to resolve that and set it up from scratch.

I did, and it was PERFECT last night.

Now the license has expired, again, and I'm wondering if I'm going to have the same issue. (IE, when I open CloneKeys after Robert fixes my license, will the stuff I put in last night, now be gone)

The only time i had "license expired" with keyclone was when I launched it faster than my wireless would acquire network - so maybe keyclone you could improve the error message to "no network connectivity, try again" or something like that if you don't get any answer or an error from trying to get the license instead of just "license expired" - but then it may not be the problem in this case

Well, my whole network is gigabit ethernet heh. I do have 802.11n wireless but this PC isn't connected to the wifi, it's directly connected to my gigabit network.

The only error I get upon opening CloneKeys is the license expired message.

I then have the option to get license, re-check or close.

I just hit "Close" and am looking at the disabled clonekeys window.

In the bottom right of CloneKeys, to the right of the connect/popup it says "badly formatted"

"I don't know if this is of any important information. But, with license expired, I closed KeyClone until Robert is able to reissue a license. However, I see it's still showing up in the system tray. I can hover over it, and it says KeyClone v1.8k, but I can't right or left click the system tray icon, it does nothing.

I fired up Task Manager, nothing is showing under Applications, but under Processes I do see keyclone.exe running and taking up about 7 megs of ram.

I forced it to end, and the system tray icon went away.

This may just be related to KeyClone when it's in an expired state, I don't know. But I figured I'd mention it."

I found this post [Keyclone] Keyclone problems which says the system tray thing is a reported but, and to close clonekeys via the system tray not the X.

So that issue is not related to why my license expires but at least it's a known issue.

Thought..... I've been closing KeyClone via the X for the last two days. Then shutting down, which in turn would be "force quitting" keyclone in reality.

I wonder if the license just hasn't been saved due to this.... since it has ONLY happened after I shut down my PC for the night, and try again the next morning.
