(my) Greatest comeback EVARRRR
I entered an EOTS game that was already in progress. The alliance was being dominated already, and the 5 people that left (probably waiting on wintersgrasp) were the ones I replaced. The horde held 3 towers, and were also capping flags. The score when I arrived: ~850 to ~175.
People saw my entrance, and started the “lol boxing paladins” “lol70s in my BG” stuff. I went straight to the (barely) defended mage tower, killed the 75 rogue, and the 78 warlock guarding it. Soon after I got control of the tower, and took off for the Fel reaver Ruins where horde were capping (and now holding) the flag. I managed to kill the flagholder and his 2 guards there, and waited till we had 3 towers (MT, DR, FRR) controlled before capping the flag. The score now was about 1200 to 500.
I must point out at this time, the horde were obviously bad cause they should have just followed in my wake to recap the tower I had left undefended. But they didn’t, and decided instead to wipe my 5 paladins off the map at FRR (thus leaving the center flag open for our taking).
Four times, my team wiped at the node, but each time a few horde left to try to stop the (awesome IMO) druid flag carrier that was running nonstop to bring our score up. This (3 times) allowed me to res my entire team at the node, cause it hadn’t gone grey yet, and wipe the rest of the defenders that were left. After the node went grey finally, I decided to try for another node as FRR now had 8 guards there. The score at this time: ~1500 to 1350.
What were the rest of my team doing? Besides the druid that ran the flag like 4 times, they were almost all at DR (except for 2-3 that went to MT to defend) complaining about how we always lose.
I ressed at MT, and ran thru the middle to protect the flag carrier, killed the 4 horde that were trying to stop him, then headed to the BETower. The 1 defender there basically ran away. I capped that tower right as the horde were capping MT and with our druid flag cap we were basically tied ~1700 apiece.
I saw the horde mass at midfield for the flag, and noted that almost all of them came from FRR. I said in /BG to try and guard BET, and I’d spend the rest of the game trying to keep FRR out of the horde hands. I never did cap the tower, but I kept it grey long enough for our score to creep ahead of theirs. The final score: Alliance: 2000 Horde: 1964.
One of the most exhilarating wins I’ve had.
