Darkfall online has been in development for forever and a millennium with many false alarms as far as a release date goes. It has been scheduled for release "soon" for roughly 3 years, this time it looks like they will be releasing at least in Europe. I don't believe the developers have kept a lid on the flow of information from beta because of fear of raising false expectations but more because they want the players to experience the game first hand.
