Default Tri-boxing Multi-Class Team Composition (Input wanted!)

Hey folks! So I just wrapped up my RAF leveling to 60 and now have a hard decision to make...what three characters (classes) do I level to 80? Here's my current list of available characters (and their current levels/specs):

    Current Characters:
    1. Warlock (61/Demon)
    2. Mage (60/Frost)
    3. Priest (60/Shadow)
    4. Paladin (61/Prot)
    5. Death Knight (61/Blood)
    6. Shaman (61/Elemental)

I'm partial to the DK, since I had a blast leveling him up and so he's built into several of my team ideas.

    Team Composition Ideas:
    1. Death Knight, Paladin and Shaman (my "dream" team of sorts, but not sure how effective they will be)
    2. Warlock, Mage and Priest (this was my RAF team, so I'm used to them)
    3. Death Knight, Mage and Shaman

I should point out that my primary goal is to fill in some roles (healing and tanking) in the guild I'm currently in, so I'm keeping that in the back of my mind. However, I also want to enjoy the grind, since it's a long way to 80 (for me).

Finally, I have a good idea about specs for all of the characters BUT the DK. I plan on using the DK for my tanking (primarily because his gear is MUCH better than my Paladin). I was blood for the quest line, but am contemplating both unholy and frost. What I'm probably looking for is the the spec that requires the LEAST amount of babysitting for the DK?

    Suggestions, thoughts, etc?

    Thanks in advance!

I'd say DK, mage, and shaman will work great. You can spec the DK tank and the other two DPS and grab a healer and another DPS to do instances. You could spec the DK tank, the shaman resto, and the mage DPS and then you just need 2 DPSers, but this is imo much much harder.

Keep in mind in the future too there will be dual specs, so the DK can spec between tank/DPS and the shaman between resto/DPS. Hybrids will be great when that patch hits.

I run pally (prot), mage, 2 ele, and a resto shaman and it works out nicely, great synergy. I want to someday maybe replace my prot pally with a DK, and replace one of the ele shamans with a boomkin (although with latest patch, maybe no need!)

I play ele shaman, balance druid, disc priest; I run those for crit synergy and general pvp fun. I run the priest as main and rely on armor and knockbacks to help the other two survive. I would suggest the DK as your third as this has synergy with spell casting and can serve as your tank when dual-spec come out. Pulling toons into a magma totem would be kidna fun

Thanks for the responses thus far.

From what I've been reading, it looks like the dual-melee is a recipe for frustration. As much as I love my Paly, I suppose his worth is diminished with the DK tanking ability and the Shaman's ability to heal.

I haven't gotten a paladin to work as MH for a multiboxing team as a shaman or priest. Mainly the limited AoE healing :/ It's for sure viable, but it seems that other healing classes are a bit easier. That said, I like pally tanks, shaman heals and spriest dps :/ But that is just me.

    Just an update here.
After some careful consideration and the input of the folks here, I've decided to take this group to 80:
    - DK Tank (Unholy)
    - Mage DPS (Frost)
    - Shaman DPS/Healing (Resto)

Thus far, outlands has been crazy fast. Most mobs are dropping before the Mage gets his second Frostbolt out and my Shaman is rarely having to do anything other than drop the occasional healing and strength totems when my DK pulls three or four mobs. Elites have been a breeze (even at one or two levels higher), although I usually bring out the trusty Gargoyle at that point.

I'll keep everyone updated, but thus far...this seems like my new "dream" team.
