    Anyone know where the bonus damage from talents like concussion are added? Are they added only to the base damage of the spell or do they buff the total after spell power is added in?

    (5 x 525dmg) + (5 x 276) bonus for initial flameshock direct damage opening salvo. 276 is 21% of my 1290 spell power
    (5 x 1420dmg) + (5 x 809) bonus for lava burst. 809 is 57% of my 1290 spell power

    2625 + 1380 = 4005
    7100 + 4045 = 11145
    --------------------------
    approx = 15150 damage for an opening salvo that doesn't include the flameshock DOT that is ticking while you spin up lava burst AND the crit bonus with the glyph.

    How much of this damage is mitigated by resil I wonder...?

    ... if all your shamans are 0\0\0 specced
    These numbers do not account any glyphs or talents increasing FS\LvB damage, such as Concussion, Call of Flame, Lava Flows and Shamanism.

    doesn't the lava burst after flame shock have 100% crit chance with the glyph?
    you should be getting double that lava value, I know my lava burst was crit for 4-5k before 3.0.8 and it seems to be much higher now.

    You could run WWS, which parses the combat log of everyone running it.
    I've found with addons like Recount or SWStats, your damage is accurate, but others damage is not totally accurate on your screen.
    A lot of the addons have a sync option, which helps a lot. Even with sync, my Recount is usually slightly different from the raids WWS report.

    WWS is free, and it will show the actual damage you deal with all your toons.
    If that's too much of a bother, get the addon Recount, have it run for each of your toons and enable the sync options.

    LvB is free crit even without the glyph.

    I have been told in game that concussion bonus damage was added after spell power in TBC and that they were not sure in WOTLK.

    Anyone want to confirm or contradict that the bonus from talents is added after spell power additions?

    All percentage-based bonuses are always added after spell power additions.

    thanks i couldn't get any response in wow forums, no one in my guild was sure, and no one in the trade chat was sure either. In trade some people were "pretty sure" the bonus was after spell power additions, but not 100% sure. Your reply here was very helpful.

    Recount will be accurate enough for the purpose you're trying for. As long as none of your characters is out of range of the combat log, recount will catch all of their damage. You can set recount to display a graph of combined dmg or dps, and it will list each characters separate damage and DPS, making it easy to add them up for a total. Not only that, but you can click on each character listed under recount and it will break down their dmg by spells/dots etc.
