5 Pct when one point invested, 10 pct when two points invested.Originally Posted by 'Sam DeathWalker',index.php?page=Thread&postID=169177#p ost169177
And you logic is a bit flawed. First of all you percent increase calculation (.4 seconds off 6 seconds) is only relevant if you always cast your shock at the moment it's cooled down (which your 25-team might, but in a 5-man situation, doing so is a huge DPS loss). Also it's only x pct dps _on shock spells_ which is a very small part of your overall dps if you're going with a FS/LvB/LB rotation (especially since it doesn't even apply here - the only shock spell you'll be casting is FS every 18 secs and the odd earth/wind shock to interrupt).

Yes, that part hasn't changed in 3.0.8.Originally Posted by 'Sam DeathWalker',index.php?page=Thread&postID=169181#p ost169181

Rank 1 says 3 percent
Rank 2 says 5 percent
Well ya I am assuimg only using shock spells whic as you correctly point out is a smaller precentage of total dps.
But what is your crit probaility? Where did you read the damage component you are talking about? Lets assume its in the 3.0.8 patch.
So umm well I need to know the crit probaility of an average high level toon to see but ya it seems you are correct. I guess I should get it on one guy in each group.
In addition to existing effects, now increases spell
damage done by the Shaman by 5/10% while Elemental Focus Clearcasting
is active.
Right I found it. Well 10percnet more damage after you crit and 5 percnet more proablitliy to crit umm well.
You're talking about the crit part, I'm not :-)Originally Posted by 'Sam DeathWalker',index.php?page=Thread&postID=169186#p ost169186
With 2 points invested you get 5 pct crit increase and 10 pct spelldamage increase. With 1 point invested you get 3 pct crit increase and 5 pct spelldamage increse. The crit applies to the whole party/raid but stacking rules apply (i.e. no stacking with moonkin aura). The spelldmg part only applies to the individual shaman.
The spell damage part you can read about at mmo-champion, world of raids, wow insider and the patch notes (http://www.worldofraids.com/news/439.html). The ability is also updated on mmo-champions talent calculator, but not on wowhead yet.

here's my wws for naxx 25, my dps would had been higher, but we did it with 20 people, so patchwerk took 3 minutes, instead of 2:10 or so( we took out 5 dps from the raid)
I wonder if with this i can keep my no 1 elemental dps for patchwerk for 5th week straight >.<

edit. Btw My highest dps was with hybrid spec, and I got to 5706 dps on patchwerk.
Ok your crit rate was 40-47 percent. so umm
lets say 1/2 the time you get 5 percent more to crit rate and 10 percent more to damage.
Thats like a constant 2.5 more to crit and 5 percent more damage.
So its about a rough 5 percent to your damage increase, and about 2.5 percent increase to others (not stack though). Well I guess that better then a flat 6.6 percent to shocks only.
But this is a 3 point spec for me as I dont use EM (just one more button to press ... ).
Actually I dont like reverb or the em/eo (more micro management) and gonna go with unrelenting storm instead (and thundering stricks to 5 points over in enhancement should cover my crits anyways):

I assume that the hybrid spec is now dead?Originally Posted by 'Niley',index.php?page=Thread&postID=169216#post16 9216
Sam, specs while leveling are vastly different than specs at 80. While leveling your gear tends to be crap with little crit/hit/haste/etc, so talents that proc off crits and make use of haste are not very useful. At 80 as your gear improves some talents scale much better with gear than others. While leveling you just want to maximize your most common spells damage without specing into crit based talents, while at 80 you want to maximize how much damage each crit does since you are going to crit a lot more often (especially in raids with massive raid-wide buffs)
Phien - that PW wws shows that lightning bolt makes up 59% of your damage while Lava Burst is only 21%, which is the reason why I use flame tongue glyph over lava burst glyph, recount shows in heroics my LB's still heavily dominate in boss fights. I assume you manually apply shocks/LvB instead of /castrandom it, so you have nearly a perfect rotation and even still LvB is still less than half the damage of lightning bolt.
Still thats crazy DPS, do you flask up for Naxx25? My mage pulled around 4400 on PW last night unflasked but he still has some blues, I think the highest in our raid was a titan warrior in full t7.5 doing around 6k and a DK doing a little bit less.
