I think this sums up, to me, why I dislike Sam's approach so much.

I despise people who flap their mouths and talk themselves up, and it's even worse when they say that they're better than everybody.

The tone that comes across is 'I'm better than you' and that sort of attitude makes for few friends, especially when it's only backed up with words.

Fame comes only when deserved.

The difference is you are (hopefully) not going around telling everyone you are better then they are because you have more accounts in a video game. Sam on the other hand does so regularly which opens him up to this kind of scrutiny.

To be honest I think that what the problem with Wilber and others have with me is that I have accomplished vertutually nothing in WoW and yet I am better known, and more famous, already then others who have done 100 times more in the game than what I have. Who the hell even knows who you are outside of your annoying forum persona? All you really did was put up a big sign and yell "look at me", which any forum troll can do for a fraction of the money. The naked cowboy is far more entertaining and awesome. Kudos on being able to brute force your way through trivial content of a dead game. I'm sure for years to come we'll hear tales of the mighty death walker and his... what did he do again? Seriously, all I hear about you having ever done is having a large number of characters and having prostitutes hold up signs in your computer-based Josef Fritzl style dungeon while you pranced around in a diaper. The only thing I really see you actually winning at is the competition to see who can throw the most money at something, but even then, there are people out there beating you.

Sad thing is, I'm one of the people actually interested in reading your inane attempts at leveling, if only as an observation in to the cost/benefits of leveling large numbers of characters. I'm all for doing what you want to do, but sanctimoniously declaring yourself the winner of some imaginary contest? When the guy who wins the Indy 500 does it because his team spent more money then his competitors you will claim he isn't the best because he "bought" his way to the top?

Everyone is free to spend as much money as they wish on EQ or WoW, I don't prevent others from multiboxing. Its not magic if I can do it so can anyone. If its "cheating" then have Blizzard ban my accounts. Also as you saw from the EQ thread none claimed I was cheating. Contray to what some others have accomplished.

Thats like claiming you are the best golfer in the world because IF you put in as many hours playing as Tiger Woods you would beat him. Do it and then make your claim.

So what you are the superior player because you have fewer accounts, and you kill weaker mobs, and you play fewer hours?

Again if someone beat me in EQ please give their name, and why you feel they are better then I am at EQ. If someone else is so clearly better then I am why has none mentioned his name yet?

Actually, yes, that is quite a common complaint and the motivation behind salary caps in professional sports.

Its just silly you cling so vehemenently to this conept that someone "wins" in an MMO though. There aren't even clearly established rules or victory conditions. All you do is continually brow beat this concept that because you spent money, you've won.

To use your sports analogy further -- yes, the Phillies won in 2008 because its clearly established in baseball that whoever wins the world series is THE WINNER! In Wow there are three clear categories of winners:

1. 5v5 arena. The higher your arena ranking, the better at PVP you are. Feel free to level to 80 and dominate in 5v5 arenas Sam.
2. PVE. whether its 5 man heroics, 10 man raids, or 25 man raids multiboxers who can clear this content "win" the PVE game.
3. Achievement Points. Gotta have em all!

Blizzard is going to release some stuff that will allow more clear winners in battlegrounds as well, right now there really aren't any -- you win a match, you lose a match, it doesn't really matter you still get "something" positive and theres no real viable ranking. Battlegrounds/Wintergrasp currently are just a way to earn honor/marks/etc so you can get gear so you can compete in arena. Yes, you can treat each as the end-game, but there is no real way to "keep score" in those things, since the teams are so large and the difference between winning/losing so minor.

Yes, for fun its awesome to go say I solo'd Onyxia (a level 60 raid boss) or I multiboxed Zul'Aman (a level 70 raid instance) or I did OVER 9000 DPS on this one mob over here, but those are all just "minor stats", they are not categories that are in competition.
