bored with my main team so I started looking at my alts

my main team is fairly geared out, enough to do most of the heroics with out too much trouble so I thought I would look into leveling one of my alt teams.
I have 17 level 70s and 5 level 61s, two are from pre dual boxing and the rest are 3 teams I leveled up to 70 and one left over raf team at 61.

I enjoyed leveling all of them but I find doing Northend again just makes me want to puke.
i seem to do ok until I hit one of the various Northend style collection quests and it's like I hit a wall, I get zero XP for some 2-3 hours and I just want to give up.

In pre-WoLK all collection quests had you killing something, getting xp, gold and a chance at a drop. you got a lot XP and gold even if it took several hours to do the collection on your whole team.

WoLK on the other hand has you killing turkeys for ZERO xp, ZERO gold and ZERO chance at a drop.
WoLK has you mounting something to do the collection that usually gives ZERO xp, ZERO gold and ZERO chance at a drop.
WoLK has you kicking before looting, wanding it, mind controlling it, mounting it or jumping up the mountain side.
and worst of all is that you are phased out so you can't bring friends or alts to help unless they are all on the same page.
I used to do the collection quest on only one or two of my team to prevent burn out but if that phases you out... grrr.
I would live my life in dungeons except that they have nothing of value except being hard, no upgrades until about level 75 (from quests) unless you are in pure greens and all of my teams are in purple and blues.

I guess I should vent in the wow forums...
One of my guild mates leveled up a druid only instead of whole team, but that means I would have to do the whole set 5x to get a second team up
anyone else looking at alts or breaking up your team and taking just one to Naxx, etc?

I can certainly relate.

You could try powerlvling 1 at a time. Takes about 70-90mins(Rested) per lvl and is quiet, no quests, no collection bullshit, no phasing. Atleast up to 77 when you can fly, questing is so much easier with a flying mount. I posted where I Pl'ed my DK in my previous posts.

Hmmm? Virtually all of us leveled 70-80 and I don't really remember ever getting 0 xp for 2 hours. And I did it 90% via questing, I did run instances a bit but after 2-3 instance runs I would get bored silly and have to go out and quest.

I agree the questing in WOTLK sucks for multiboxers (BUT IS AWESOME for single boxers esp/ with all the "flavor"), since it involves so many collections. Once you do unlock a quest hub via collections though there are going to be quite a few kill type quests. What I suggest is not using something like Questhelper/Carbonite, since it will recommend doing everything, but instead use Wowhead to figure out which quests open up quest hubs, do those, then only do the quests that are kill.

Nonetheless it is painful, and I always wonder about people with multiple teams. After having done it once, I am not going to level another team to 80 (even though I have like 12+ 60s laying around) again until Blizzard fixes the collection issues, doing it solo for future characters is much more enjoyable, esp if you have 1-2 of your 80 guys follow out-of-party and just heal/dps the tagged mobs.

So you never did any of the collection quests x5 where you didnt kill anything? i.e picking up 15 feathers or crap on the ground? I find that hard to believe and the turkey quest he is refering to is one of those which takes a while and is alot of running around.
