Thread: LF Keyboard

    Default LF Keyboard

Building a new computer and I am looking into a new keyboard/mouse and have decided on the G5 mouse from Logitech. On the issue of a keyboard tho I am stuck. I like some of the features of the G15 such as the blue LED lighting and the 2 USB ports but I have no use for the G keys(go go X-Keys Pro!) or the LCD display and I see no reason to pay a premium for these functions. Anybody here able to recommend a keyboard that would have at the minimum 2 USB ports? Blue LED lighting would be icing on the cake but a non illuminated board would work just fine.

I had a new G15 (with the 6 g keys) and just went and got a G11 (18 g keys) for $69. I use those side keys a lot for totem macros, and the top row I use for movement on my slaves so I don't have to move my hand from my mouse. Plus it has a nice media controller for music

i'd buy a basic keyboard and buy a logitech G13 instead. just an idea.

My personal setup uses an X-Keys Pro for all my macros. I use the keyboard for chatting only when running my 5 toons. The G-keys would be a waste as my hands are no where near the keyboard during normal gameplay. I am looking for a basic 104 key keyboard with 2 extra USB ports for my mouse/X-Keys Pro/headset to plug in to. This will eliminate the need for a USB hub as the case I am puting the new PC in will only have 2 front panel USB ports.

The reclusa has USB ports and a pretty blue glow, though it also comes with the "G-Keys"-esque macro-capable buttons (though I've never really bothered with them).

I personally liked the dial-style volume controller and media player controls (fwd/back/pause/play/etc). *shrug*

I go through quite a few peripherals, never had any problems with it. I prefer the split-style ergonomic keyboards to the candybar rectangle "gamer" keyboards, though. More comfy.

Reclusa, what a name for a gaming keyboard.

I used a Saitek Eclipse for many years. It performed flawlessly. The Eclipse II would be another option. My only complaint was a few of the key face's wore off, but they say this only affected the earliest of their models and has been resolved.

They have an eclipse III now, not a bad looking keyboard. Not sure what the keys are on the outboard edges, maybe programable keys, although the discription says nothing about programable keys.

Not bad at all for $75, especialy since I just spilt water on my G15 v1 and a bunch of the keys on it are doing things other then they are suppose to be doing, so am in the market. Hopefully the G19 is released soon. Having to make do with an x6 keyboard for now.

Can't wait till they miniturize this so that it can be built into an ultra portable laptop and we can do away with keyboards or make do with far too small keyboards
