I'd likely make it based on how I already play EQ. 1 tank class, whatever is considered the very best raid tank there is...assume warrior? One healer class...a pure healer that can cast big fast heals. 1 healer class that can do heal over time spells and 2 caster DPS classes, probably with pets.

Another question, on a PVE server, can you be trained by other players? As in them pulling large amounts of mobs and running it over to you and dropping agro on you? I have just been trained today in EQ. It is only the third time it has happened to me since I started playing in 1999 lol, but am not too happy about it. I remember someone saying mobs in WoW were mostly leashed, so would seem training would be kinda hard to do.
IMHO, a Prot Pally is easier to tank with than the other classes. As for a pure healer, I'd pick a priest. AE heals are awesome. But you don't really need a dedicated healer until you do heroic dungeons. Hybrid ranged dps with heals work fine in all other cases. Plus, the added dps from not having a healer makes fights faster. (this is a big reason elemental shamans are so great for PVE boxing). As for DPS classes, ranged is best, for obvious (positioning) reasons. Many classes can fill this role. It's just up to your play style.

You cannot be trained by other players. (I must confess I DO miss the trains in Lower Guk and Blackburrow, but ahhh well....)
