Basically, Keyclone is easy to use and intuitive, but costs more, ala Macs. HotKeyNet is more complicated, but more robust and cheaper, ala Windows based PCs. Agree or disagree if you want, no need to go further. I hope that explanation of the analogy was sufficient for you.
Actually now that you spell that out it makes a LOT of sense, I was actually thinking along those lines in the hardware sense as in you can't customize a mac but its pretty and easy to use and does it's job within a given role... while a PC can be built specifically to your task but isn't as friendly to configure.
