    Default Simple multi-boxing software on a single PC?

    Hello, I recently decided to try out multi-boxing and have 2 WoW accounts setup. I am using a single PC and have been looking around for a simple software program that will just allow me to have key presses sent to both applications of WoW. I tried using AutoHotkey but I am in the dark when it comes to scripts and programming, which is required for much of that software app. The other 2 I looked into were Cloned Keys, which seems to be exactly what I am looking for but is mac only? and Octopus, which does not seem to be up anymore because every link I click for it is disabled or not functioning.

    I am simply looking for software to clone keys for two coppies of WoW so that I can use both characters as I level with a recruited friend account, and one that does not require scripts or any programming experience. Thanks in advance for any help =)

    Edit: I also tried HotkeyNet but could not get scripts to work properly

    KeyClone (link to the direct download at the top nav bar) is probably the fastest to get going with - 20 dollars I think for lifetime license per PC (not mac). I've used this on my rigs now for a year or so and love it.

    Innerspace / WindowSnapper is also an option but requires a bit more scripting (see sticky at the top of the software section).

    I'd prefer to not spend the 20 dollars and see if I can get something else as my needs are very simple. I'm not looking for anything but a key emulator or clone for 2 applications. I have been reading more on HotkeyNet and I still dont understand hardly anything about making scripts for it after reading the tutorial. If someone could tell me exactly how I can setup a script to just have keys / clicks work across 2 apps that would be great.

    This is the reason to use Keyclone.....5 min setup and play. Nothing difficult and worth 10x the price hes charging.

    there are a lot of people on this forum who use AutoHotKey, etc. if you need to set something up, im sure they can help you. i have seen them help a lot of people on this site. it just takes a bit of learning and understanding what the scripts do and such and you should be well on your way to boxing.

    Here is a simple "hello world" for hotkeynet:

    First download the hotkeynet app:

    http://hotkeynet.com/

    Next start 2 instances of wow

    Then start hotkeynet and and relabel the wow windows through the hotkeynet menu, for this example call your primary wow instance wow1 and the second wow instance wow2

    Load this script:

    Code:
    <Hotkey 1>
    <SendWinM wow1>
    <Key 1>
    <SendWinM wow2>
    <Key 1>
    Set up a macro or something on each character bound to key 1, hit 1 while your in the wow1 instance to confirm that it works and the key is sent to both windows. If everything is working then you can expand the script from there, this thread has excellent tutorials for getting started

    A quick hkn-script for simple broadcasting and starting the WoWs would look like this:

    Code:
    <Command LaunchAndRename>
     	  <SendPC %1%>
    	     <Run %2%>
        	     <RenameTargetWin %3%>
        	     <RemoveWinFrame>

    <Hotkey Alt Ctrl L>
      	<LaunchAndRename Local "C:\temp\multi\w1\wow.exe" WoW1>
      	<LaunchAndRename Local "C:\temp\multi\w2\wow.exe" WoW2>

    <Label w1 Local SendWinM WoW1>
    <Label w2 Local SendWinM WoW2>

    <KeyList MyList A-Z, 0-9, Enter, Tab, Oem4, Space, Comma, Oem6 except W, A, S, D, Q, E, L>

    <Hotkey MyList; Shift MyList; Alt MyList; Ctrl MyList>
     	<SendLabel w1, w2>
     	     <Key %Trigger%>

    <MovementHotkey up, down, left, right>
       	<SendLabel w1, w2>
       	    <Key %Trigger%>

    <hotkey pause>
     	<sendpc local>
     	       <ToggleHotkeys>
    Only thing you would have to change is the "C:\temp\multi\w1\wow.exe" in <LaunchAndRename Local "C:\temp\multi\w1\wow.exe" WoW1> to the directory you want to start the first WoW from, and "C:\temp\multi\w2\wow.exe" in <LaunchAndRename Local "C:\temp\multi\w2\wow.exe" WoW2> to the directory to start the second WoW from.

    After specifying the directories, you can simply start HotKeyNet, load the script and then start the WoWs with a press of 'Ctrl + Alt + L'.

    I hope this helped.

    For more explanations or more features like resizing/positioning its best you take a look at the Guide in my signature or directly at www.hotkeynet.com.

    So from reading what you all have said and getting information from other posts, in order to get HKN scripts to work I need to have my 2 wow windows opened and renamed first?

    I see there are several already made scripts setup for various tasks and I'm wondering if I can setup a script in HKN that will just mirror key presses and mouse clicks across both applications? and if so where can I find it?

    sorry if it is frustrating to explain at all, I have just never used any scripts before for anything =\

    Edit: Also, since HKN is in beta, will I need to get a new version of it each time a new update comes out?

    I'm sorry how exactly do I relabel the WoW windows? I dont see a way to do that on the main HKN interface

    Alright, after extensive research and some playing around, I now have my Dual-box setup and have my lock / mage started Thanks to everyone who posted and gave me much needed information.

    I do have another question though, which is...How easy is it to dual box a feral druid + rogue together? From my very limited experience playing lock + mage it seems hard to get both characters within range of a target for melee attacks. Is boxing done most effectively using ranged classes or is there an easier way to move multiple characters beyond /follow and /assist macros?
