Default I think i screwed this up - RAF /facepalm

I would really appreciate some advice on this one ... I thought I had RAF all figured out (after hours of reading and planning) before starting this whole thing ...

    I have chain linked my accounts like so: A -> B -> C -> D -> E

Here's what I've leveled so far:

    AccountA_______ AccountB_________
    AccountC_______AccountD________AccountE

    70 pally
    ------ 70 priest ------ 70 mage ------ 70 mage ------- 70 mage
    12 priest
    ----- 41 priest ------ 41 priest ---- 39 priest ----- 40 priest

I have spent SOME of my granted levels getting the first team to 70, but have at least 20 levels left on each account. I've been using my pally on (A) - the team in bold - to boost B,C,D and E priests up to their current level 40ish (B,C,D + E are all getting RAF bonus xp, by the way). I have just realized that I can't grant levels from account (A) to (B)! (guh! totally forgot that).

What's the best/fastest way to get my priest team to 60? I was thinking that I should have rolled my pally on account (E) when I started so that I could grant back up the chain, but it's too late for that. I was going over it with a friend and he thinks i`m screwed.

Man, RAF can be complicated - i thought i had this figured out, now I feel like a n00b ... I thought that I could lvl a team to 60 once, then simply boost teams to 31, and grant the rest. Can anyone see a way I can do this without manually lvling the 40 priest on E up to 60? How are people doing this?

One thing that helped me when I was RAFing was to maximize the gift levels by doing a couple of character transfers from account to account. Sure, it is a bit of cash and you can't move them back for a month (or three, I forget), but it may be well worth it not to waste the gift levels. Basically, you can move a toon to an account that can still be granted levels and grant them to the moved toon.

It may or may not help in your situation, but it is something you might not have considered.

I think with 1 veteran and 4 RAF accounts, you will always end up with one account that cannot receive granted levels.

If you're leveling characters on accounts 1-5, accounts 2-5 are earning levels for 1-4. But then who is working for Account #5?

To not waste free levels, it sounds like you would have to have 6 RAF accounts. Leveling up accounts 2-6 would then be earning levels for accounts 1-5. Then you level accounts 1-5 to 30, and grant them to 60.

You could then transfer the character on account 1 to account 6, and deactivate it account 1.

That's what I would have done but someone else may have a better way.

I forgot to mention. If you do the above, you would then still have an extra 15 levels for accounts 1-4 (for leveling them up to 30) that would go unclaimed =P

*sigh - yeah, that's what i figured ... im screwed on account (A) because im playing a characted (my pally) that can NOT grant any levels. Im screwed on account (E) because it cant RECEIVE any granted levels.

Should I get a new toon on account (B) caught up to my lvl 12 priest on Account (A) for RAF bonus - and then pwr lvl thru instances? or would mob tagging be faster to get my lvl 12 priest on account (A) to catch up to the rest of the 40ish group?

The problem isn't with the receiving account, you will always have one that cannot receive granted levels (the last one in the chain). That's where you transfer a character to once you've granted the levels.

The problem lies in playing a character on the 'first' veteran account as part of your first team. It gets triple XP, but your not earning grantable levels for your 2nd team.

So for two teams the ideal way would be:

    Accounts:
    Veteran -> A -> B -> c -> D -> E

    TEAM 1:
    A,B,C,D,E

    Team 2:
    V,A,B,C,D

That way once Team 1 levels up they will have 30 levels each that can be granted to a member of Team 2. Once done you can transfer the character on E to V to go back to having 5 accounts to pay for instead of 6.

    edit: nevermind.

    level your priests to 60.
then, just level up another team from A and B using your 60 mage (from any account C, D or E) to 31. thats it. from account B, gift 29 levels to account A.

Make another toon on B Play A and B (boost through instances with the mage on E) till the priest is caught up to the priest on B then switch so you have 5 priests ~40.

    Then rotate
    ABCD - Booster E
    BCDE - Booster A
I think that will work based on what you said. B,C & D will creep ahead but you can also rotate one of them out at a time too. It will take longer but probably the cleanest way to do it.

Also I found questing to be MUCH faster with RAF then instance between 45-60 (for Horde especially) Southern STV, Felwood, Searing gorge, Hinterlands!!, Ungoro, WPL and EPL. I was doing 150k XP an hour easy per toon (vs ~120k boosting in Strat and doing just instance quests in there). So you might want to just get the A-priest to 40 then quest.

I only did 2 RAF accounts then spread toons around. For what I wanted it ended up being cheaper. I also had to make a spreadtsheet to keep track of which toons were on which accounts and which toon were going to grant levels to the others. You might want to consider doing this to maximize your RAF.

Moving the Pally to an unlinked account to boost 4 of the other accounts, then using grantable levels to boost toons to 60 might be another option. You could even move the Pally back before you had to actually pay the ongoing fees - still out a battlechest cost though. Again, I would recommend mapping out exactly what you plan to do. how many teams how many grantable levels and who is granting to who etc etc.

I think you have a couple of viable options still so all hope is not lost, nor has your money been wasted.

Thanks - i think that makes sense. One question tho - are RAF granted levels tied to an account, or are they tied to the individual character that earned them?
