Default Another newbie two box thread.

    Hello all,
Since WotLK was released, I have returned to WoW and was happily playing my DK on my usual server. Then I found out that some friends are already playing on one of the newer servers and would like me to join them. I don't really want to transfer any characters. My eyes lit up when I found a post on the WoW forums talking about multiboxing and decided that I needed some of that.

I have spent today messing about with Jamba and Keyclone. Along with Carbonite, it seems to be going well and I think I have most things working. My question is this though, I will be two boxing on a new server, I'm not counting on my friends helping me with money etc, so these chars will have no support at all, other than 3x exp from RAF. Which two character combo is going to server me best to level to 60 as fast as possible? I was thinking about playing a melee as my master and a healer as my slave, but i am open to suggestions, I just need to blast through the quests with the minimum of effort, so that I can use RAF levels for my intended character/s at a later date.

    Thanks for any advice.
I can see why this gets so addictive and I'm sure I will be 5 boxing before long

I'd suggest going with skinning on the secondary toon, you can macro.. "/targetlastenemy" and "/use skinning(apprentice)" or whatever skill your toon currently has, as a two line macro.
If your second window is large enough to view the minimap, give herbalism to one toon and mining to the other. Old world herbs and minerals are both selling very well, as most people would rather play WotLK then farm mats in the old world.
Enchanting is a good skill to have, if you'll eventually do instances... especially if you eventually go with a 5-man team.

The toons that level best solo, are also the toons that level very well as a 2-Box team.
Hunters (usually BM spec) can generally level faster then any other toon, but they are being heavily nerfed in the next patch.
If there's any possibility of moving towards a 5-Box team at any point in the future, the Paladin is the easiest tank to control as a boxer.
I'd recommend at most one toon that does its stuff in melee range, with every other toon on the team as a caster or ranged damage dealer.
A strong option might be a damage dealer/tank toon, combined with a damage dealer/healer toon - Tanks and Healers are the two hardest components to find for an instance down the road, by playing both even as a two-box combo, you'll be able to instance just about whenever you'd like to.
The shaman has a lot of synergy with most other toons, and could be a good healer. Whichever healer you go with, you'll want a toon that can also funtion as a damage dealer.

I am just now rolling 2 druids, and I'm find ing it just as fast, if not faster, than running 4 mages and a 1 priest, and my 5 shaman team. Mobs die just as fast it seems, and there's no downtime between mobs (leveling feral, no mana worry about)

And as said before, the most profitable 4 professions are mining, herbalism, skinning, and enchanting is a good 4th, you can just DE all the random greens you come accross and auction those, rather than vendoring greens, or selling them. Some of the random enchant greens are really awful.

Gather everything in signt, and sell it, and you should make enough to live off of, and maybe a bit more. Then, when you roll 3 more toons, you can use the money and skills from the first 2 to finance their crafting profs

Thanks very much for the advice, guys.

I decided to go with skinning and tailoring for my trade skills, so I can make my own bags and the skinning is bringing in a little cash at the moment, I'm sure it will get better later. As for classes, I thought hard on it and having played a warlock to 70 in the past, I decided that due to the lack of need for huge amounts of repairs or even any equipment really, I went with two of them and will be specing both of them as Demon, with the intention of going affliction when i get my 5 box team up and running in the future, the thought of the screams of "Oh shit" as 5xCoA and 5xCorr land on them .. looking forward to it

    Thanks again.
