Default Question about Raf and account names

I currently have an account that i got from my friend that i have owned for 4 years.
would it be legal to set up the second account in his name?
or should i just make it in my name?

and would it be better to set it up in his name so that i can transfer the leveled toons to my main account?

P.S. my friend quit playing wow and gave me his account.

well, if i understand your story correctly, its your account for the past four years, but your friend has been using it the whole time. not only that, but its also under his name, though its really your account. hmmm... i think you're kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place.

If it's been your CC paying for it I'd say just change the name if not you might be stuck.

annoying thread with the same question thats answered every day...
Make a new accounts IN YOUR NAME. Account sharing is bannable, blizzard doesn't give a crap whose paying for the account as long as the person who the account name is under is the one playing it.
    So you are SoL.

Not that it means much, but...An in game GM told me that since all the accounts are billed to the same CC it was ok....BUT "You should check with out billing department to be sure."

We all know that GMs are the very very very first line of interaction with BLizz and they are basicly tech support for people who dont read the FAQ. With that said ive boxxed my team to level 50,
been reported numerous times for "botting" and "hacking". And im still running strong.

Is this against the ToS or Eula? Maybe.
Does Blizz seem to care? Not right now.
Should I call Blizz, talk to a real life human and get my accounts all under the same name, not just billed to the same credit card? Yeah.
Am i going to? Yeah...one day when i wake up between Blizz's business hours.

If you absolutely want to not get banned, all accounts should have the same "Owner name" and be billed to the same Credit Card. For me, its not a big enough deal to get worked up over. With RaF
you can get all your toons back up to 80 in a couple days played time. No bubbles No troubles.

Hmmm...where's Vyndree when you need her?

If this was your friend's account you have not owned it for 4 years. You have used his account for 4 years. He owned it and still does as long as his name is associated with his account. To not break TOS, you should get two accounts and put them in your name.

Edit: Now that I'm thinking about it, I don't think we "own" our accounts in the legal sense.

    exactly.

bottom line, just get another account and forget the future hassle. with RAF you will be leveled back up in no time.

to bad there isn't a way to change the name on the accounts w/o having to go through 5 hours of being on the phone with Blizz and end up right back where you started because you don't have the original information/cd key to show proof of ownership or some dum thing like that.

Don't ask your dentist how much surgery is going to cost, they have to clue. On the same token, don't ask a GM about billing questions, they have no clue. Call billing and ask them and they will tell you what everyone posting does (in this thread and in dozens of others here), the accounts must be in your name or in the name of your MINOR child for you to legitimately play it.

No he didn't, because he doesn't own the thing he supposedly "gave" you. Don't be surprised if this account gets banned if you use or used it...
