A boxer is usually going to get best gold results from daily quests, so looking past the issue of making money with professions, alchemy is still gaining some nice benefits from 40% more out of a potion and the trinkets which tend to be excellent.
I'm sure this might change with raiding, but I have yet to drink a single potion in WotLK - have never needed it and honestly I forget I even have them at this point.
My main tank is an alchemist and the extra life from a potion has saved me a couple of times before on close calls for tough heroics.
