A little diary of my Multiboxing exploits.

It kind of started when I got a 2nd account so I could use my main (at the time a L70 warlock) to boost twinks through dungeons for gear. Now I've got 3x 19 twinks; Zelrae , a rogue - Míno , a druid - and Yasueh , a priest.

When WotLK came out I spent a couple of weeks levelling my main as far as L73, then just got bored of doing the same old sort of quests, and rolled a pair of tauren DKs. Got them to 60 ripping everything in Hellfire a new one, less the Fel Reaver and Pit Lord.

After playing a round of WSG alongside Vipeax's 5x hunters (where my priest didn't really get to heal much besides his pets), I figured it was time to step it up to 3 accounts, and finally put the warlock twink(s) together that my main didn't manage to become. Before that I figured I could do with a 3rd DK, for the extra farming capability (because twinks are costing me a lot of G. Also when they get to 80 with Army of Dead to go with Dancing Rune Blade, they'll be causing absolute chaos in Gurubashi Arena, by summoning about 60 ghouls between them, making AGM trinkets easier to get hold of). Of course I needed a L55 on the 3rd account, so I rolled a priest for levelling on my first account (because I just love playing one at 19, and wanted to see how they play higher up), and a druid on the new account (hybrid just made sense after playing a pure DPS as my main for so long), these two on RaF. I ended up levelling them as a feral druid and shadow priest, and every fight just went so fast with the DPS they could put out, and zero downtime for drinking with the priest usually getting the kill from holy fire, and getting evey bit of mana back before the next pull.

When they hit 55 I rolled the 3rd DK and started getting it up to the same level as the other 2, at the same time taking the druid/priest up to 57, and rolling another pair on RaF, this time a pally and rogue, who pretty much just got dragged round instances behind my 2nd accounts main, a BM hunter at L66. Once they hit 31 I dumped all 26 'grant levels' from the druid onto the rogue, while sat right in the middle of Orgrimmar. So many accusations of hacking when people saw that XD.

Now I'm levelling the DKs (just about done in Zangarmarsh, so nearly at 64), twinking out the druid a bit for 59 BGs (that are just full of DKs), switching her spec to full resto, and working on getting gear for a couple of 19 twink teams, as I figured with all those hunters midfield, a little CC might be handy, so I'm going to be trying teams of 3x warlocks (the soul siphon talent should be nasty with 6 DoTs on a target), and 3x frost mages (no-one is going anywhere with them around, never mind what 3 lots of arcane explosion spam will do to dense groups of defenders in the flag room).

Here's a shot of the DKs in the basement of Sunken Temple, after having a nice run around the place and getting a trinket for my druid (one had to drop out to make space for her for the boss kill, so I can't really say they cleared the place):



They did Maraudon earlier that day to boost a friend's hunter, and got to see (and kill) the ugliest woman in the whole of Azeroth. BRD soon, then going to carry on working my way up the difficulty scale, farming ench mats for my twink guild bank as I go

Hopefully I'll have Vista installed by the end of the night, and have a viable 2 monitor set up (I use SLI so Vista is required for multi-mon ), so I can shuffle windows around for leaderless BGs. I'm using Input Director at the moment to use 1x mouse and KB with 3x comps, along with hotkeynet, and I couldn't be happier with what they're capable of.

Things are progressing quite well.

DKs are well past 65, but are on hold until I can get 2 more (They breezed through all the nesingwary 'kill 30' quests, and just have the elites to track down). I've just upgraded 2 trials to full accounts, and I'm making 4 druids on RaF (to go with one I've already got at 58) in order to get to 55 for the other 2x DKs.

For the moment I'm working on making it as easy as possible to set up the addons/macros/bindings for each alt in a group. To do this I'm symlinking WoW (less the WTF folder) for each character. This makes it a lot easier to work with bartender's account wide settings file as it's a lot less scrolling to get around, and also allows me to use all the macros available for the install, both common and per toon. Actually I'm doing a lot of setting up by text editing the files for one alt, then copying them over into the other WTF folders. [edit] Found out I can edit the files while WoW is running, do a '/console reloadui' on the toons, and it'll reload my macros/bindings from the saved files. Very handy as it saves repeatedly shutting down/logging in 5 windows.

I'm starting to play around with HKN's if statements, which I'm using for a leaderless setup, so when the mouse is on one window, then that alt becomes the leader. This is part of the reason for having symlinks per character, as I'll need a full set of macros that work with each different leader, so the per character ones probably won't be enough. I still need to mess around with mouse position restore, as when I swap windows around the mouse follows the window. Ideally, I'll hit alt F1-F5 and it'll swap windows and immediately work like it was on the previous leader.

Rolled 2 more warlocks, and renamed a couple I already had, so I now have Dóuble, Dòuble, Tóil, Ând, and Tróuble. 5 more signatures and they'll have their own guild, 'Two Taps Ten Dots'.

Buying twink equipment for spell casters is very costly. So far I have 3x Darkweave Breeches, 5x Keller's Girdles and 2x Sanguine Sandals. Hopefully, by the time I've got 5 of each, I'll have ground my tailor/leatherworker up to exalted with Scryers, and be able to make spellthread, and have my enchanter up to revered with Thrallmar for the +6 stats enchant, that is going on their Inferno Robes (going to be putting the DKs to work, farming for the rings to hand in for Rep. At least I'll get Netherweave too, so I can continue to level tailoring to 375, and hopefully make some money selling bags).

5x Furbolg Medicine Pouches (with Dawnblades) are going to be hell to get, but I like having a lot of stam on the weapons, so I can put spellpower everywhere else. The runecloth that drops while farming for those ends up as bandages for the twink bank.

And the twink Mage team is going to be called <The Little Bo Peeps>

I think I'll call the boomkins <Go LF your own G> seeing as they'll be doing instances once they're all at the same level.

Well something odd happened on the way to the Lunar Festival. Before taking the moonlight portal to Moonglade, I took the flight-point from Org to TB to pick up a 5th coin for each of the druids, and somehow one ended up getting a flying mount 46 levels early...

My warlock looks a bit put out, still having to walk round Azeroth, when she'd rather be scaring all the wildlife with her flying machine.

[edit] And I quickly got the red dress pattern for my tailor before the maintainance shutdown, to go with the tuxedo jacket, pants and shirt recipes sitting in my Alliance alt, Hordespyxd's bags (along with a ton of 19 twink items you never see on the Horde AH). No point running round town with 5 toons at once if you don't look the part.

I finally got my druids to 55, but still have yet to spend their talent points, or give them any trade skills (besides the one who had skinning), and they'll need some much better gear before they go anywhere near instances their level (they were actually wearing a couple of WC items at 50, until I took them through a few quests to get them replaced). I'll probably take them through Maraudon to get started with instances, as there's some nice caster gear from the quest rewards.

And because I now have another pair of 55s on my newest 2 accounts, that means I finally got to roll the last 2 members of my Death Knight team, and soon I can get back to levelling them again. I've still got to wait for RaF to expire, as 4 out of the 5 are linked. That's only a couple of weeks away, and I should probably put some more work in on my main.

The warlocks are on hold. I've bought them everything they'll need that can be bought, short of 3 more Staffs of the Blessed Seer, but with a lot of changes to twinks on the PTR, I'm not going to spend a fortune enchanting them. I may go and grab a couple more quest reward items though.
