    Default herb / skinning discovery

    Hello,

I just found out that you can skin a beast and not loot it, and your other toon can skin it too, and both would get a skill up.
Same thing with herb nodes. I'm sure same thing applies for mining too.

This is wonderful, so I can level both herb and skinning to 300 with both toons.
I already have 1 toon at 60 that I leveled the hard way, and will make a DK. AFter that, I will switch up the pairings so that each pair has at least one herbalist/skinner in it. They'll help me raise some cash to buy 4 x epic flyers

I've found you can keybind Skinning to a macro, unfortunately I've not been able to do the same for Herbs or Mining.

    Basically...
    /targetlastenemy
    /use Skinning(Master)

You need the (Skill Level) after Skinning, exactly as your current skill is, in your spell/ability book.
You can have any number of toons simultaneously attempt to skin a mob, although I've always just had one of each per team: Skinner, Miner, Flower Picker.

Having multiple skinners is a nice idea, if more then one can gain the resource, thanks for sharing ).

lol this macro would make things even faster....

having 2 skinners or 2 herbalists when leveling from 1 to 60 may seem pointless, because the amount of leather / herbs you collect is the same, no matter how many toons get the skill ups from that

but after 60, once you rearrange the teams a little bit, you end up with 2 teams, each having a skinner and herbalist, and that's big money.... and you only level skinning / herbalism once...

    You can also use

    /cast [target=party1target, exists, dead] Skinning

And have it skin the creature that your party leader is targeting.

The same mechanic does apply to mining. In addition, high-level miners can smelt Titansteel once a day, which is a money maker. Admittedly, it was a HUGE money maker at the start of Wotlk, not so much anymore. But a titansteel cooldown still goes for about 30g or so. So, there would be some benefit to having multiple miners even if you keep em on the same team.
Current team: Shnoght (DK) + 4 elemental shamans (Shalph, Sheta, Shamma, Shepsilon)
Heroics cleared: Drak'Tharon, VH, CoS, UK, Gundrak, HoL, Nexus

Waiting in the wings at 80: Shaladin (pally), Shmage (mage), Shruud/Shrued (boomkins), Shelta (leftover shaman)
