    Default Melee issues

    Hey there,

This is probably a one in a million topic, but I really need to get this off my chest. I recently started out a dual Pally team. But how the heck are you supposed to kill stuff without breaking follow? And how do you kill mobs that way that both chars can actually hit it. I'm having really hard times finding out the best ways to succeed playing a dual melee combo. 2x caster wasn't any problem though.

Anyone has any guides or something written about dual melee combos? Or anyone has tips to help me?

    Kind regards,

    LV

Just pull and step back, so you're standing in front of you'Re 2nd Pally, haven't got any Probs with it till lvl 16 then I lvled 2 Casters (had performance problems ^^) Isn't hard at all, and jamba (add on) helps a lot with Follow after Combat

melee is a pain... but do-able. i have rolled 5x warriors and 5x rogues, but i have not yet got them passed level 30.

to do this, you must replace your basic 'attack' action with a macro. i use the focus based macros (level 2), so mine looks like this:

    /startattack [target=focustarget]

if you are using the basic level 1 macros, which are just /follow and /assist, then your macro would look like this:

    /startattack

the reason you want this over the other, is that the default attack button is a toggle. personally, i spam it... which really confuses things when not all your guys are within range.

once they attack, you must remember that your follow is broken and you must be quick on the re-follow.
i tied my '/follow focus' macro to LCTRL+= and bound LCTRL+LBUTTON to LCTRL+= ... making the re-follow a mouse click.

if you have any melee ranged attacks, remember to make a macro for those as well (ie: guns, bows, and wands all use shoot i believe)

i also usually position my lead character just on top of or on the other side of the target mob. i basically end up surrounding it (which is just ugly when you are surrounded by rogues )

    i hope that helps,

    Rob

I just bolt on follow focus at the end of my macros, works for me.
Also horseshoeing your target helps alot with getting dps on them esp in pvp.
That is not hitting your target head on,but off to the side and horseshoe around the back, smoother and easier i find.

I personally tought that melee was way to hard for me to multibox...

even when I created my 4 DKs.. I gave up after reaching Outland... and then I discovered the jamba add-on .. and one of its wonderfull features : the follow strobe !! I'm now lvl 73
my DKs are on automatic follow every second of their lifes... their follow never breaks from melee attacks : never ...

DKs are cool because, their attack range is pretty good because of the two handed mace, or axe, or sword... so their spells and techs are actualy working as the spells on my shamans..
    It's amazing !!

give it a shot !!! you'll love jamba auto follow strobe function !!!
    4xShamans & 4 DKs - OMG !!!!

strobe? you mean like every second the /follow macro is triggered?

    if so... i wouldn't use it. timers == ban-city

I have a little question to add on to his that would most likely help him too... I was wondering how to make your toons look at the target, as in something i can put in front of /cast Lightning Bolt etc. It would also be very helpful for when you try to molest your target and everyone is facing the wrong way.

Cheers for the responses . The Jamba addon works wonderful, although I'm still struggling with positioning my paladins right to be able to hit a mob.

I will look into this more thoroughly, and hopefully it'll go better when I get higher..

    Thanks again .

Hey ya! I run with 2 pallies, an undead mage and an undead priest. What I do is have Sob(a pallie) my lead/master on Jamba and run towards a mob, and then slightly pass it. I turn and hit my Big Button macro which is this:

    /target focus
    /follow
    /assist
    /stopcasting

I then hit my 2 button which has JoL for my pallies and fireball/smite for my ranged. I rarely have any issues with melee now

    Heh 4 Shamans FTW

    Mostly my macros consist of
    /assist party1
    /target focustarget
    /cast <spell>

    Especially useful for healing lol
Oh and a /follow button on it's own is great.
