Digitally Buying Vanilla WoW (and RAF)

I'm looking at potentially added 3 RAFs to do some new teams shortly, and from my previous experience with the interface of RAF (prior to the nice xp bonus unfortunately) - I find it quite confusing.

Can someone confirm that this would be the correct way of doing it?

Account 1 today RAFs a new trial account (X)
Account 2 today RAFs a new trial account (Y)

I go online and buy vanilla wow digitally for X and Y

X RAFs a new trial account (Z)

I go online and buy vanilla wow digitally for Z

After RAF expires, I transfer characters from x,y,z to my current accounts 3,4,5 (or the other way around depending on what's cheaper).


So I guess my questions are:

a) Can I (in Europe) simply upgrade a RAF trial account to vanilla and make it 'happen instantly'? Ages ago I had issues with a trial account not being upgraded before the trial was over.

b) Will the above setup give me RAF bonus if I play with characters on 1,2,X,Y,Z grouped?

c) Could I achieve B with just 2 new accounts?

When I created my RAF account, I was able to upgrade to vanilla wow.

It took about 24-48 hours for them to truly upgrade the account from trial status so that trade and mail worked.

Digitally upgrading? Or via CD Keys from boxes? (I did the box thing on my current accounts, and that was instant, but I wanna do digital this time).

Either way it can take 72 hours to upgrade for mail/trade/(/2) chat etc. But the lvl 20 restriction is lifted automaticly

Digital upgrade from RAF takes at least 24 hours and can go to 72 hours. If you want to create a Bloodelf or a Draeni, you can upgrade your account to BC instantly but you have 10 days to level them to 60 then transfer. When you digitally upgrade, the level restriction is lifted right away but all communication restrictions remain until the upgrade is complete. That means, no trading, no mail, etc... for at least 24 hours. Not really a big deal but it's a pain for a day.

I am to lazy to read what you wrote :P, But if you meant does raf start instantly then yes

I wouldn't do it that way. I would have:

Account 1 invite RAF X
Account 1 Invite RAF Y
Account 2 invite RAF Z

Then after they ding 60, transfer X to Account 3, transfer Y to account 4 and transfer Z to account 5. This way you can use RAF X & Y to grant a new char to level 60 on account 1. So if you leveled up say a group of 5 Shammies, when they hit 60, you can create a pally and grant 59 levels. Leveling 5 of the same toon is a bit easier than mixing in. The macros are the same across the board and just overall easier to manage. Just be sure to create your free toon before you transfer the characters.

Yes to B. That's exactly what I did as I had 2 accounts before RAF started (1 RAF'd X, 2 RAF'd Y and X RAF'd Z - for me). Ticks suggestion is probably better for you though.

No to C. I don't see how you could do this without linking a third account unless your current accounts are already linked. Actually, I am not ever sure exactly what you mean.....
