    Default Is this a crazy group makup?

    First, let me say that 5 boxing is everything I thought it would be...it rocks!

    I'm still learning a lot so may ask some dumb questions. Please forgive me if I do.

    So far I have created a 5x shaman group (about level 32 now) and a 5x druid group (about level 15) and like both of them a lot. I can see the benefit of having 5 of the same class in that you can set up one set of keys and (aggro be damned) blow through with wide open dps. Going forward, I would like to take advantage of the benefits of a balanced group but want to be careful about investing time in a setup that does not work well. I'm also mindful of gear. I don't want to have to fight trying to gear up 4 or 5 mail (or leather, or whatever) classes. Hate to waste good drops too.

    As such I'm thinking about this...

    DK tank (really just because I like them)
    Retribution Paladin (for the auras, dps, buffs, bubble, etc)
    Boomkin Druid (good dps, buffs, battle rez, innervate, etc)
    Restoration Shaman (strong single target heals, fairly strong ae heals, totems, etc.)
    Another Shaman -enhancement?? (more totems)

    Honestly, don't know much about shaman other than I always liked having them in my group when I played my Resto Druid.

    If that turns out to be too much to manage I am also considering...

    DK/Pally tank
    Resto Druid
    Shaman x 3

    or..

    DK/Pally tank
    Boomkin Druid x 3
    Resto Shaman

    or...

    DK/Pally tank
    Shaman x 4

    I run a warrior tank, 3 warlocks and a holy priest in my group. Up to 70 I was running 4 warlocks and a priest and it was a LOT of fun doing instances.

    Once I got to 70 I switched in the warrior and everything changed for me. New keybinds and a whole new level of complexity. Rather than sending in something to tank and just dealing with heals and dps, I suddenly had to worry about keybinds and manuevering my tank as well as dpsing and healing. It took a lot of getting used to, but now that I'm used to it (and I'm sooo close to 80!) I know that it paid off bringing a warrior in to tank so I can do instances even easier.

    In retrospect, I was watching some videos of mixed groups and I'm really envious now. If I had to do it all over again I'd bring a mage and possibly a druid into my group instead of two of the warlocks. I would probably even replace my warrior with a paladin to get more buffs. I think there's a lot to be said for a group that has AI, Fort, MoTW, Blessings from a paladin and blood pact from a warlock's imp. Plus, the additional CC would be nice at times. This does, however, add a bit more micromanaging to the task of getting macros and whatnot set up.

    Thanks for the input guys.

    I think I'll plan to drop the Paladin and run DK tank + healer + 3 ranged dps. Sad to see the pally go, but definitely don't need to be in the hard mode zone.

    Just my $.02 paladins aren't the very best multiboxing healers. The trouble I had was no AoE heals so it I had to focus more on healing and it got to be a pain. I highly recommend a shadow priest and a boomkin (or resto druid). I am currently working towards:

    Pally tank
    Shadow Priest
    Fire Mage
    Resto Shaman
    Affliction Lock

    This is my 2nd group + my 10 man group. This team is currently 63, 70, 70, 59 and 69 respectively. I REALLY wish I had leveled a drood, but oh well :/

    Looks fun but maybe a bit of a struggle for me to setup keybinds I would be happy with. I am looking at something like..

    Prot pally or deathknight
    Ele shaman
    Resto shaman
    Boomkin
    Boomkin or mage

    Until the last couple days of playing with boxing deathknights I had never considered anything other then pally for the lead, or possibly boomkin for pvp. I like the DK and wouldn't mind making that my main, so OP for sure. I'm pretty set on the two shamans simply because of the tremor totems, wrath totem is nice as well and I don't have a problem healing with the resto at all. I'm also pretty sure I want at least one boomkin for the aura and they do well sharing keybinds with the ele shaman.

    The only thing I'm really debating is boomkin or mage for the final slot. I think I have already decided to do pally for pve and DK for pvp and just switch them out depending on what I am doing. You don't really get much for a pally tank from doing pvp anyway so it's really a waste, I don't know about anyone else but my pally usually just stands around in pvp anyway.

    So assuming I am doing.

    Prot pally for pve/DK for pvp
    Ele shaman
    Resto shaman
    Boomkin

    I've already ruled out another melee class, any suggestions? Has anyone found anything viable for boxing arena? I haven't even bothered doing an arena game just because of how lousy my shaman have done in world pvp.

    Solid, except for the melee classes other than tank.

    Yes, you can do it, but its considered "multiboxing hard-mode"
    Not anymore. Might be easy mode now.

    I played a Pally/Priest/Hunter and it was very easy mode. I'm currently debating between trying out a 5-box Pally/2x Priest/2x Hunter or Pally/Priest/3x Hunter.

    Pally = Tank/Rez/Buffs/AoE
    Pet = Offtank(s)/DPS
    Priest = Heal/Buff/Debuff/Rez
    Hunter = DPS
    Mains - 80 Prot Pally, 80 Blood Death Knight
    5x Paladin (60)
    5x Priest (60)
    5x Druid (60)
    5x Shaman (60)
    4x Warlock (60)
    4x Mage (60)
    4x Rogue (60)
    4x Warrior (25)
    3x Hunter (25)
