So whats the deal with her deep breath?

I went and took her on tonight for the first time ever with an 80 DK heroic geared and 4x 80 shamans heroic geared, and on phase 2 the first fight it said "Onyxia takes a deep breath" and then blam ALL 5 of my guys died...my tank was topped off with 27k hp and he still insta-died.

Second time i went at it she never did a deep breath and my guys hardly got hurt. So whats the deal? Is there any way to even protect against that or what?

The Deep Breath was her move to wipe half your raid out because they were grouped too close together. I was hit by it lots this week and it only does like 4k damage. How the hell did you die to it?

The worst phase for her is 2 (in the air) cause your tank loses Aggro and almost never gets it back after she lands.

Not sure what happened....all 5 of my guys were at full hp and then they all died instantly - didn't even look back in the combat log unfortunately and its too late now. I didn't really need aggro back on my tank after phase 2 cause she hits for crap even on my shamans.

That's when You strafe....when You see her casting. Practice for easy Skadi kills

If you want fast gold - do the Sunwell Dailies. If you do the MBox friendly ones you can complete several in about an hour - which was 125g per toon for me. That's a lot better than Ony

I've heard several times to do the dailys in sunwell because the area is nearly empty.

So I've started yesterday and had a look at the quests. I've spent about 2 hours questing on the island
because I've never done any dailys there. Today I've done the quests again and it took me about 30 minutes to complete.

very easy and fast way to make gold. (~ 100G / character)

got 3/5 flight mounts. I think I'll start questing and doing dailys instead of instances and farm my flight mounts and epic flight mounts.
After that I'll collect 1000 G / character for cold weather flying and activate my WOTLK on all accounts.

HINT:

Stop DPS when she lands. This was required back in the 40 man days.

Because nobody understood how aggro works with her. Today you can be 100% certain how it works with her (tanks to blizz sending us the data).
You can safely keep nuking once she lands, because she does _not_ have an aggro reset.
Since in p2 your dd will most likely surpass your tank by a huge margin (Thanks to her wing buffet it's rather easy to do that even in p1) you simply won't get aggro back for a long while. So just nuke the hell out of her
