If i were to run an Instance wiht a 4 man shamman team, do i desginate a healerto the tank? or do all my Shamans heal the tank when needed?

If 4 elemental, most of us would toss 4 synchronized lesser healing waves whenever the tank needs a big heal. LHW is a very fast heal and 4 of them will top off a tank nicely.
Alternatively, one shaman can be specced restoration and act as the sole healer. This is suggested for starting heroics.
Current team: Shnoght (DK) + 4 elemental shamans (Shalph, Sheta, Shamma, Shepsilon)
Heroics cleared: Drak'Tharon, VH, CoS, UK, Gundrak, HoL, Nexus
Waiting in the wings at 80: Shaladin (pally), Shmage (mage), Shruud/Shrued (boomkins), Shelta (leftover shaman)

but if that 1 sham is restro, how do i get him to target the tank and just heal him?
i woudlnt be able to use /assist
Have your slaves /assist the tank, not your main/healer

User your focus command and have your healer set focus on the tank and just heal with focus macros.
