I actually got badmouthed by the local gameslinger at Gamestop this weekend... Stopped in to browse games and was chatting about WoW... mentioned I had 5 accounts and he immediately went off on the "omg you need to drop that addiction" rant... claiming he got "clean" of his own habit...

Ends up he left WoW and now plays warhammer online... good to know that the crack fiend is telling me to drop my addiction and claiming to be clean... I hope Meth treats him better.

I would drop a friendly note to his supervisor and corporate that their employee is actively discouraging sales of the #1 selling game on the market.

That'll shut him up, real fast.

I've been boxing (first 3 toons , now 5) for about 4 months now.

Until the holidays, I never got a negative word about it. Occasionally, I got props from people who know what I was doing and wanted more info or expressed that they just couldn't afford to do it, stuff like that.

But over the last week or so, I've had several run-ins with players that just 'knew' that playing multiple accounts must be illegal. I usually just let them go their own way, tell them to go ahead and report if they wish, no harm. I recently made a macro to /r with a link to one of the many Blizz threads about hw MBoxing is allowed according to the ToS. Even that doesn't seem to get anywhere.

Anyone else getting extra grief recently?

Two words: Christmas Lootz

Many (probably was more than we think) people / kids / teenagers / etc received WotLK for Xmas or money for Xmas to pay for their accounts, or are new to the game due to a gift.

This means the world'ss shit-stained children (young and old) are once again vomiting their vile filth in the world of azeroth.

I should clarify, he had a tie, I think he may have been management...

My wife and each five box on Eldre'Thalas, and have been for well over a year. I rarely get any hate tells, although there may be some that I'm not aware of, as I always have /yell from players turned off on all characters (I did that when I first started WOW, as I quickly discovered most yells were nonsense that I wasn't interested in seeing on my screen).

I just realized that I forgot to add that to my post-- aside from the one instance I mentioned (the druid who made a few comments and left) the rest of the comments on Eldre'Thalas were positive or at least non-judgmental. Most people thought it was cool, some thought it was weird, but didn't make rude or insulting comments. A lot of people just ignored me, and a few took the time to buff as many of the alts as they could pick out in the group. No idea what it will be like in the 60-70 bracket on horde side, but I may find out. I plan to do some of the outdoor quests to help them gear up as they go and will probably cross paths with people from time to time.

I had a know-it-all punk in Org recently who TOLD me it was impossible to multibox instances. I wish I had gotten screenshots.

...then I R-U-N-N-O-F-T and went about my business. He really was boring me. He had made a comment earlier that I was going to move all my toons to my main account and sell them. Even when I corrected him, he didn't waver from that train of thought.

Other than the folks who just stare like you're a leper or something, that has been the only comment I've had in a month.

I must say, reading this thread, that we multiboxers take some serious abuse.
I play Horde on Wildhammer (EU) and yes some people are nice , but many more are just NOT!
It is probably due to the X-mas break, because even "single-boxing" I run into some absolutely fantastic stupidity.
But of course multiboxing just seems to draw the attention of the immature.
Honestly, if I may, I say E-peen. I think it is envy.

I have no idea how much toons go for, let alone accounts with multiple 70's. Yes, I know everybody and everything has a price, but someone would have to "come strong" if they wanted to buy my team. "Time to buy a new car" or "Lets take that trip overseas, baby" kinda strong! Even if I did sell them, what the hell would I play after I got rid of them? I'm not taking another team through Azeroth!

On another note, and I'm not trying to derail the thread, but have any of you ever ran into people, who when they find out you're a multiboxer, bug the crap outta you to run them thru something? We all get the occasional request, but I mean asking you everyday, to the point were you dread seeing their name pop up in a whisper? I've got this guy on my server that bothers me to tears for a run through on something. BRD, Ramparts, Mana Tombs....it doesn't matter. I'll turn him down, and all through the night he'll ask "what are you doing now?" As far as he knows I'm the busiest damn person on my server. Just ask him!! :whistling:

He's even made me log off a couple of times due to his questioning. He's not mean or demanding, but more of a friendly nuisance, which is not really enough to /ignore. Have you guys ran into this?

Since i left the 1-30 bracket the people whispering me and abusing me has really dropped off. now its more curious whispers.
I even had a realy Nice priest help me rez me team after agroing 3 of those elementals in searing gorge that are 100% nature resistant(Sucks to be Ele shamans against them)

All in all my expierence with abuse from other players has dropped off.
allthough nagrand on a whole seems fairly tolerant of it.

heh i started a couple days ago and i've bumped into a few people. the most overwhelming comment i've got was lol!wtf!.
then i'll do a little dance or cheer them and be on my way...must really freak some people out.

the influx of the kiddies is definetely more noticeable, i had some turd burglar in general start spouting off about it being the height of n00b and then they proceeded to rant about a whole bunch of other stuff to whoever would bite :thumbdown:
i've not directly spoken to anyone yet, although if someone is genuinely interested then i'll be more than happy to help em out!
