    Default Round robin with FTL

Im having issues getting round robin to work with my FTL setup. Currently working on my healing so I can do instances with pugs, and I have them all set up like damage spells, where they assist the toon driving with FTL and then Id like one at a time them to heal...however, atm they all heal in unision.

Has anyone gotten round robin with FTL setups to work?

i've never seen the need for FTL, as i've used the /focus method for quite a while. (seriously, why use FTL instead of /focus method??)

that being said, i guess the issue is round-robin and hotstrings? there is no support for that at this time.

the problem with focus was deaths and having multiple keys for multiple toons to get the focus from multiple people. So if bob dies, ted becomes main, you switch, then have to reset focus, then pass focus, then target focus.

With FTL, Bob dies, Ted becomes main and you just press lightning bolt, and your in business.

Rob, how hard would implementing roundrobin into hotstrings be?

for me... i have set my focus and pip swap keys to be the same.
    ie: bob, sam, joe

    f8: /focus bob
    f9: /focus sam
    f10: /focus joe

that is the same on all characters. those keys are also my pip swap keys. hitting f9 will bring sam to the main area, etc

i also have '/follow focus' on the same key for all. sometimes i will add the '/follow focus' to the focus macros, but it can mess up casters.

after that, it's fairly simple. all my targeted spells are the same across all charcters:
    ie:
    /cast [target=focustarget] fireball

i just place the macros in the same slots... hit f8 at the beginning so all wows focus on my main (bob in this case)... and if bob dies, i hit f9 for sam... sam pip-swaps with bob and all remaining use sam as their focus. then i just click and fire normally.

it's been fairly simple for me. what am i missing?

(and yes, round robin hotstrings are in the next release)

not much, only, that the ftl is able to do a leaderless setup without the use of focus, so focus can be used for other uses, and that infight it doesn't require you to press a "i changed my leader"-key (in your setup F8-F10), but only to simply switch the window you are actively playing.

right, but when i switch my windows... i'm also changing my leader.
one key for both things (one is a wow macro, the other is the keyclone pip swap)

having focus might be useful, but i've managed fairly well without it.

it just seems like a lot of complexity for very little reward

yep, but in an ftl the otherway around "when i switch my leader, I also want to resize/reposition my windows" isn'T allways true

I think this depends purely on playstyle and classes.
I personaly use my focus a lot in instances for example for cc, setting alternative targets, setting the backuphealer, setting the primaty healing target...
..but true, in normal gameplay or in easy instances its not realy needed and more a gimmick than a necessity.
it just seems like a lot of complexity for very little reward
..well this realy depends, and honestly on the wow-part of the setup i find the focus-method which requires a '[target=focustarget]' in every macro not easier than adding a '/click ActionButton..' to every macro.

    For the hole keybinding-setup:

Yes this is much more complex and error-prone than in an focusbased approach.

But this is only true for keyclone, in HotKeyNet its simply adding one line to your script (like <ApplyTemplate FTL "1" "u">), if you created the initial templates once (or you simply copied them from an example).

Btw.: before this turns into an Keyclone vs. HotKeyNet debate:
I absolutly loved Keyclone (the program )for its ease of use and all its great features,
but as soon as I got a little bit more in the hole hotstringing neccesary for an ftl,
I more and more loved Hotkeynet, for the possibilities and ease of creating FTL-HotKeys realy simple.

I personaly see it this way:
Both programms are great and wonderful, but they have a different approach of doing things, and therefor their strength lies in different areas.

The big advantage for me with FTL over focused leader was freeing up focus which has been priceless in the Arena, honestly focus alone probably made winning 10x easier as it allows you to setup completely unexpected "one shots" on any target before they can react at all to bubble, shell, iceblock, etc

Aside from that ive also found FTL to be a bit cleaner when switching mains as it just always works flawlessly. With a focus based leader setup any alts whom are currently under certain CC effects like gouge will be unable to acquire the new leader as a target to focus until the effect expires

    Suprafro,

Would you please explain how you use "focus" for the one-shot type things...please. I've seen others allude to this, but when I 1st started mboxing I immediately began with FTL and as such am completely in the dark when it comes to using both (with focus for sheeping and one-shotting) systems at the same time.

If you could provide a couple of scenarios and maybe a macro or two it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
