I ended up getting to 73 boosting. After my rested exp ran out I just quested. It's sooo fast and easy with just one! I used my team to "quest boost" so it was easy mode. He is 78 now 8)
I get the impression that Blizzard wanted to make mob-grinding less efficient than straight questing. Quest reward experience isn't astronomically high, but you get lots of quests that can be completed quickly and often piggy-backed in an area. So you kill 10 of mob A, collect three pages for a book, kill named mob B, and poison a food platter... presto 80,000-90,000 exp from rewards and it took about 5-15 minutes to complete, and now you have two other quests in that area that will each give 30,000 reward exp and an item. It's pretty sick. For a multiboxer that means that you don't even worry much about how much exp-per-mob you're getting, you just want to blow through the quests and suck up the reward exp.

I'm looking forward to my team hitting 68 and just heading straight to Northrend for quest grinding to 70/71.

I got a lock to summon my team to Icecrown to grind on the Skeletal Runesmiths. My pally is 80 while my 4 shaman are 66-67. Problem i am running into is that even with rested xp, I am only getting ~360xp per kill on each shaman(this is with the pally in the party). Tonight Ill try to see what happens with pally out of group.

My plan has been to round mobs up with my pally and just mass aoe with the whole group. But how can I do this with the pally out of group? Chain lightning only taps a certain amount of mobs...maybe 1/2 of the pull. So how can i get my shaman to tap all the mobs then get the pally to pull aggro?

Also, any idea why the xp for the Runesmiths are so low? Will the xp increase as i get closer to 80?

That spot was the best grind spot for exp and cash for a few weeks after wotlk went live. It got smacked hard with the nerf bat.

Well, anyone know of any other high lvl spots to grind? I guess once i get all to 77 and have the money to fly, then Ill start with the icecrown/stormpeak quests.

All the easy grinding spots have been nerfed now. Now there's just mediocre grinding spots where the respawns are slow or the mobs are spread out enough that its hard to pull a lot at once. Herds of shoveltusk in Fjord or rhinos/mammoths in Tundra isn't too bad, and has the benefit of getting you lots of leather, assuming one toon is a skinner.

If not, then you may want to check out the east side of the island off the west coast of Fjord (drawing a blank on the name of the island). There's not a ton of humans over by the ship, but at least in the past they respawned awfully quick, and has the benefit of cloth drops. These will just be level 70ish mobs, however.

My suggestion, though, is not to wait too long on doing Fjord and Tundra, as the quests should start going grey when you're close to 80. Might as well knock them down for the full xps, get the gear, and then do more of the boosting when your toons are about 72ish and the pali stops wrecking any xp gains for the lowbies.

I have 3 toons now that I am boosting. I did my Druid like i have explained. And I am working my hunter and mage now. I AE boost them at onslaught camp until 73. I then quest boost to 80. Dragonblight is where "most" mobs are 72+ with some scattered 71s in there. I use one pal and 3 shaman. I have a hotkey that I use to invite my hunter ( or whoever I'm boosting ) When he joins the same button is pushed to make him the focus. I only group him when i have to run between quest objectives ( crusader aura ftw ) SO I tag any mobs i need to kill for the quest and kill them with my Shams. I am getting the full exp for the mobs I kill and doing the quests solo with the Power of Five 8). It really is super fast!

note: For the hunter at onslaught camp. I simply run him into the center of a camp, and do a 360 tagging single mobs or multishotting some if they are close, when they all are in melee I drop explosive trap and then blow them up with TS. I Put Earth Shield and Riptide on him before I pull. 8)

Have you done the Onslaught Camp in the last couple weeks? I thought they just nerfed that spot?

Well, crap.... yeah I need a spot to grind... I'm trying to get to 80 for the Elder Title achievement and they threw this 10 hour downtime into the middle of things....

I can fly, I'm at 77+, any spot remotely good for AoE grinding? I'm torn now between sticking with normal quest route, grinding an instance, or finding a grind spot.

    Cheers
Doing my best to get motivated for the WoW Headless Horseman mount hunt of 2013... so far failing. and now in 2018, let's see about those HH mounts! [Edit: Actually got an HH mount in 2018... on separate account 6. One to go! In 2019, my last BNet accout, the main one, got the HH mount. End of an era.]

hey brandish,, i just got second team to 80 by questing useing brian kopps and tourguide with suvega addon. im a slow leveler so i was only avg 100k to 130k xp per hour questing but it beats grinding for me. i hit the basin a couple bubs from 77 then left same from 78 then quested in storm peaks till i was 2 or 3 bubs into 79 then hit icecrown. there are a few collection quests to do but there not that bad to get to the next quest
